I'm more surprised that something like this hasn't happened sooner (that I know of) at a con.
Anime cons in general experienced another boom post-COVID. I don't know how things are going politically in Singapore, but there are other countries where people have been getting radicalized as fuck. Not just with politics, but also with some shit that used to be normalized in the community. Some people are tired of cons not doing much about creeps, and shit like that.
Amos picked a bad time to fuck around at a con, and he found out.

It's a medium and not a genre and depends on title. Overall much of animu is aimed at kids and teens.
In Japan, it has been a "kid or geek" thing (at least according to one guy from Osaka I talked with).

There was also a mention of the Yuji being involved in some kiddy cosplayer drama. He’s 17 during this & the other party being 13/14 ( seemingly different girl to the alleged rape victim)
His instagram has been found with mostly cosplay photos & videos. ( i do not know how to archive an entire instagram page sorry)
