I still credit Kaif (SR_Kaif) with saving the game from falling to feature complete obscurity in January 2020. (Hell, even 5up is on record claiming Kaif was the true starter of its English popularity) There was an article that claimed he didn't have much impact but that looked only at Steam, ignoring mobile downloads where it always had been before Sodapoppin found it.

To bring some life into this thread, they announced a new update is coming out that introduces new roles into the game.

The first one they've teased is the shapshifter:

Genuinely one of the first game trailers in a while to get me excited to consoom a product. Almost made me want to try out the game. And then I remembered how brain-dead public lobbies are.

A question for those who watch/play this game more than I do (which is admittedly very little): I believe these are the first roles they've added to the game. With modded versions likely spurring this update, think the addition of roles in particular could whip people back into a frenzy or has that train been more of less ridden out by streamers using the modded game modes?

New roles could definitely spark back up some interest for the game. Especially since they haven't included one of roles they mentioned in their road map (Sheriff), a 5th map and a new gamemode.
