Train to Busan, the very well received South Korean film about a family trying to survive a zombie Apocalypse in Korea is getting into the hands of Hollywood in order to make a remake of the film. The audience for this remake I guess is allergic to foreign made films and can only see Hollywood versions of those foreign made films for who knows reasons.

The hugely successful South Korean zombie thriller Train to Busan is getting a US remake. As reported by Deadline, Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto is in talks to direct it.
The Train to Busan remake will be released by New Line Cinema, which is part of WarnerMedia. Tjahjanto is in negotiations to direct, with James Wan producing and Gary Dauberman on board to write the screenplay. The movie doesn't have a release date yet.

I love Train to Busan, but this getting Americanized will not be good. If they put the “woke” agenda on this, it will be a disaster.

This movie will definitely be garbage, can't wait for that asshole businessman be a "Trump" replica. With how one of the actors in the original is in an MCU movie, I won't be surprised if they try to look like they'll "respect" the original by having that guy reprise his role

I enjoy Amtrak too, but man the ghouls that get picked up on overnight stops are a little annoying. Zombies might spice it up.
Isn't the american train to busan remake just the NYC subway right now? I mean they could make this movie really cheap with a camcorder.

Inb4 the zombie plague in the movie is caused by a virus that mutated due to people not getting a vaccine.

Better yet, it's because the said vaccine was denied, due to a straight white father killing off what happened to be the only doctor in the World that is capable of making the said vaccine, because the said doctor was going to cut up the white father's daughter's brain, as the final ingredient needed. And bonus points if it features a scene where the said father gets his brains beaten to a pulp by an extremely buffed black woman with a golf club, who's the daughter of the said slain doctor.

As long as you have the budget to pull it off, and not a dog shit director, the idea of the movie isn't a hard one to pull off. They really would have to go out of their way to make something worse than forgetable.

Train to Busan was about flawed but well meaning men putting aside class and personality differences to work together against an existential threat so they could be the strong figures their families needed. (Also some teens die before they can make out or something, idk, it's been a while.)

Of course american studios want to remake this. It needs to be "corrected" for modern audiences and sensibilities.

The zombies in the original are faster than trains are in America. The movie would be over in seconds.
Not if 1 out of every 2 zombie is obese it wont.

Train to Busan was awesome. The Sequels were meh but I can't wait for a bunch of different shades of brown people and one coal burner survive waves of zombies and redneck psychopaths along with evil Republicans trying to drone them.
