American Horror Story

And like, I know AHS is supposed to be very dark and depressing. But this season just felt kind of mean with how it treated the characters.

This season had so much potential in themes, locations, characters (except Zoe who was boring as shit), and actors. And it all fell flat when it came to the plot :I

Misty Day will always be alive in my heart though <3

I pretty much forgot that Zoe existed after a few episodes, like you said, she was bland. Was her death vagina even relevant after the first episode?

Mine too. :heart-full:

Assuming the stuff I've read is true, no. The only sex she had later on was with resurrected people, who were immune.

Even Zoe's own personal hell was boring as shit (I was being dumped by Kyle over and over)

I have to admit though I was happy when Maddison was killed off I could not stand that character, and as for Zoe the most interesting thing to happen to her after the second episode was being impaled on the fence. I wish they had explained what Spaulding did with the child Marie stole since he called the child "his real doll" and what was the point of killing Nan off she was one of my favorites. Why did they not develop Spaulding's background all he said was his family were "Watchers" and he was the "tenth generation" so is he the last? or are there more? Also :pickle: Death Vagina :pickle: should be a new forum rank :tomgirl:

I thought Queenie's seemed very tame. I mean, when she got there, she just seemed mildly confused. You'd think it'd be something like reliving Hank's shooting or something.

I really wish they would have pushed the theme of race relations more between the witches more and pushed the idea of not judging people by the color of their skin. All I got from the race relations subplot is "Racists gonna be racist" and "Marie Lavau was only important to pad out the season then should die when the plot no longer needed her for sassy remarks"

My friend came up with an idea for a subplot for the fate of the Voodos with Misty Day trying to find her own group early on (she did say that she didn't feel right in the Coven after she revived Madison) and eventually coming upon Marie Lavau's Voodoo tribe and feeling drawn in. She get's rejected by Marie Laveu for being a white person despite displaying all the classic powers of Voodoo and being accepted by the other members of the Voodoos and eventually goes back to her swamp depressed by being rejected by a group of people she felt she could have a chance at belonging to.

Stuff happens the same with the Seven Wonders with Marie Lavau being sent to hell and the rest of the Voodoo's being exterminated by Hank. Misty Day get's sent to hell. But Papa Legba appears to her in hell. He explains that he is going to bring her back for the sole purpose of serving him, as without any more Voodoo's around she is the only one with Voodoo blood in her, and that she was never a Salem witch to begin with. She is brought back and tasked with having to rebuild the Voodoos but as a catch she is tasked with carrying on Marie Lavau's curse as the sole purpose of her existence is to ensure Papa Legba has followers. It's a bittersweet ending for the Voodo's and Misty as she has finnaly found her own "tribe" to call home, and has become powerful in her own right, she can never die and has to watch the world around her advance and her friends and loved ones die one by one.

I liked my friend's idea, what do you guys think?

Is definetly a much better idea than what the actual writers came up with. So much wasted potential...

I got seasons 1-4 on iTunes and have been watching it during work. It's pretty good. Season 2 especially.

The new season really seems to be stepping up the gay content. I can't say I enjoy that. Like, there was always some in previous seasons, but it never really alienated non-gay audiences. There was an abundance of man ass in the premiere episode, some drag queen guy apparently just because (played by the same guy that played the con-artist in season 4), and weirdest of all, some strange monster that...rapes men with a drillbit strapon. The actual episode was...well, I can't really make a judgment yet. I'll have to see more. But they really need to tone down the gay this season. It's too over-the-top.

This show is my ultimate guilty pleasure. It's so stupid and campy but highly entertaining. Even the weaker seasons (Murder House and Coven imo) were still entertaining in a "so bad in a good way" if you got pass the mediocre writing.

Still need to watch the season premiere. Sucks that I currently don't have internet at my place but I'll probably watch it tomorrow with friends.

Edit: Forgot to mention but Freakshow was finally added on Netflix a couples days ago.

Finally saw it on Friday night. Eh. I felt like the other season premieres did a better job of setting up the lore and structure of their respective seasons. This felt all over the place. I mean the parts with Wes Bentley and his family were good. But everything about the Hotel was just, I don't know where they were trying to get at. Also not enough GaGa. I'll see how this season plays out though.

As for the "rape" scene, I'll just see how that character's arc goes.

Honestly, after last season I had such low expectations for what this season was going to be, and I don't know how they did it, but it was worse.
I don't think the lack of Jessica Lange helps because that woman has basically carried the show from day one.

All the good, established actors have taken a back seat to Ryan Murphy's twinks, it's sad.
He's got Sarah Paulson (supreme of my heart) and Kathy Bates and he's just not utilising them. I hope the season gets better. The first episode felt like it was 3 hours long and nothing makes sense.

As a footnote, does anyone else feel like Gaga is a ploy to draw in views?

Just saw the most recent episode, and I've gotta say that Evan Peters really shines this season. His character is by far my favorite. That being said, I don't really like Sarah Paulson's character this season.

Also, they had a bunch of famous dead serial killers, but no Ted Bundy? They had the Zodiac Killer, who was never even caught and is just represented in the episode as a man in a weird costume, even though he may or may not even be dead. Just a little nitpick. I also think it'd have been kinda neat to have one of the serial killer characters from a previous season cameo as one of the killers. They could've had Dr. Thredson, Leigh Emerson (the Santa Claus guy from Asylum; though he was never confirmed dead), or even Dandy (though his actor is playing a different character this season, but they could've still done it and made a little joke about it, like "you remind me of someone...").

I have yet to start Hotel. I'm still watching Freak Show and just finished the Pepper-centric episode. So sad
