Reports circulating online claim that a United States Air Force F-15 has crashed in Kuwait.

According to initial accounts, the aircraft went down during the current conflict with social media footage appearing to show a fast jet descending with smoke trailing before impact. The pilot is said to have ejected safely prior to the crash.

One report stated that an F-15 Eagle operated by the US Air Force had “reportedly crashed in Kuwait” and that video from multiple angles was now circulating online. No official details have yet been released regarding the cause of the incident.
The F-15 Eagle is an all-weather, twin-engine tactical fighter designed to establish and maintain air superiority. According to the US Air Force, the aircraft combines high manoeuvrability, acceleration, range and advanced avionics, with a high thrust-to-weight ratio and low wing-loading contributing to its performance in air-to-air combat.
At the time of writing, there has been no official confirmation from US authorities regarding the crash or the condition of the pilot.
UK Defence Journal has approached relevant officials for comment and clarification.

Not one, three.

And oh, it wasn't *just* Kuwait AA shooting at them. Iranian defenses were shooting at them too.

Odds are Iran got at least two of them and as always, the western media is spinning and coping and delaying.
If the enemy shot down your planes why would you cover that up with a more embarrassing lie that your own team did it

Chances of the Iranians getting them but we won't acknowledge it? If it were just one downed by blue on blue I'd be less sure but Iran has been punching way above its weight everywhere else.

No that's the F22, the current F15 has been developed with Saudi money. We use their money for separate rnd, and sell them the ones with their tech, and have a separate production line with our current tech. We do something similar with the F16 with Qatar and Japan.
Thanks you are right. 1976, damn that is one old plane. 50 years old. Was it even the USAF as the article implies, or some arab airforce?

So Iranian defenses are only capable of shooting aircraft down that are flying home over Kuwaiti territory? Real effective stuff there.

Because as you see in this thread, NAFO fans would much rather admit to their own defenses being capable of fucking things up than ever, ever, ever giving acknowledgement to someone fighting Israel.

Russians do much the same with their weapons systems. The export models are referred to as 'monkey-models', not as capable as the systems the Russians build for themselves.

Waiting for the investigation to come out, will be a while.

Keep in mid we've been flying F-15s out of Kuwait about 35 years now, and out of other places in the Middle East even longer. Through daily operations and constant meetings we've all worked out procedures to keep just this from happening. Pilots and air defense people know what they need to do to keep everyone safe.

One down is likely an accident. Two down is a major fuckup. Three down is hostile action. We and the Kuwaitis will find out what happened, who did what, and who did not do what when they were supposed to. The firings have already started, am sure. My guess - one or more Kuwaiti air defense personnel, officers, in the pay of Iran.

I sure as shit would NOT want to be in Kuwaiti air defense today.

Oh, I know... I mean that the advances in development on the EX, I think, used Saudi money for rnd, we just don't give them our domestic tech.

I guess it's just airframe improvements? I'm not really sure, but Saudi Arabia has sunk a bunch of money into developing an F15 specific for their needs, and we take whatever we felt would be useful and used it in our latest models.

To maintain the illusion that your planes are hard/impossible to beat.

"Our planes stronk against enemy, plane no crash because enemy, it crash because literally any other reason besides enemy"

Wartime psyop basically.

Not at nine figures a shot for a new F-15. Bet the Kuwaitis are already ponying up for the replacement birds.

This is a huge loss of face for the Kuwaitis, no matter what happened.

What happened bros? I remember our brave heroes getting their shit pushed in by every sand nigger with a bolt action rifle. Hajji killed so many Marines that those faggots decided to troon out. Thousand of those retards killed!

Suddenly our best and brightest drop outs are winning wars! What happened?

I mean it too. These military manchildren would talk a huge game, then they would deploy to the sandbox and start shitting their little britches whenever the bullets started flying. "Fighting men" indeed!

Was it just a lower quality recruit? Are Zoomers better at killing than Millennials and Gen X?
