I never understood this argument. People don't seek harmony with their housemates out of fear of physical harm or... "turning on loud music so no one can sleep". Watch how they communicate, it's clear they barely talk to each other and they sure as hell have never had a deep or lengthy conversation. Physical violence isn't the one and only factor that makes people agreeable, most of the pressure is emotional or psychological.
