Yeah, that was a sad one. I figured she was going to die right away because this episode didn’t follow the typical script. Music was different, Dr. Now was never shown lecturing her roughly, they didn’t show Lola, they over-emphasized her heart problems-Dr Now mentioned it in every voiceover , etc. It seemed softer, no arguments trying to harshly shake her out of bad habits.
But the truth is, even if they didn’t show all the pushback there probably was, (like, why did her Uncle not want her back?) she did manage to lose 400 lbs. She was trying and it’s heartbreaking to think she died all alone, exactly as she feared in the beginning. Especially after making that call to college to finish her degree.
Would Amber see it as somebody finally getting their act together and trying their hardest to improve their lives and finally feeling free of an addiction and having hope,, or would she think, “well, if imma die I might as well eat that orange chicken! “ my guess, the latter.
