It's a common trick used by lazy fucks - they turn their underwear inside out so they can wear it one more day. It's usually done when they run out of clean clothes.

I've never heard of anyone doing that to pants, though. It could be that she was trying to hide dirt spots, or that her eyesight is deteriorating and she can't tell if the pants are inside out.

She's very likely prediabetic and the only thing keeping her from full blown diabetes is her age. If she doesn't lose a significant amount of weight, it's only a matter of time before her blood glucose is so high she slips into a diabetic coma.
