This is true. A wise man once told me that age is usually 30. Everything that you've ever done catches up to you.
I doubt that AL will ever get her shit together, though. I'm even sad to say that she probably won't even make it to 30. She's been to the hospital - not for anything life-threatening, but she's one of those people who take advantage of the ER and substitute them for doctor's visits. Even so, one would think that the environment would get to her.
I'm glad that lots of people do get their second chance to turn their life around, but I doubt our AL would have that. Even if she could, I doubt anything would change.
Tammy Slaton's been in the hospital numerous times, dangerously close to death. Granted, it wasn't a heart condition (that I know of), but any weight she loses at the hospital is gained right back, thanks to her enabler environment. AL's got enablers all around her.
If Tammy Slaton is still chugging along after being in an induced coma, almost dying and being sent to a nursing home twice to lose weight, I don't think Amber is going to kick it before she hits 30. Tammy is definitely bigger than Amber and is completely immobile. She's almost the same age. Look at all those people on My 600 Pound Life who are heavier than her, have been heavy like her their whole lives, and are still alive at 35, 40, 45 +. That's because the human body can take a LOT of punishment when you're young and it doesn't all go downhill the second you turn 30. I'm pretty sure
@Dog Prom 3D can confirm that Amber is unlikely to die before she's 30 just because she's fat and doesn't move much.
That being said, the one thing that could off her is her unchecked diabetes. She's type 2 (obviously), but if she fell into a diabetic coma she could die if she's not found in time, or if she catches pneumonia or golden staph at a hospital. This is unlikely, but possible.
Basically I think we can look forward to years of Amberlynn bullshit to come. I don't think I'm being insanely optimistic, but
I really, really want to see Amber roleplay. Her writing is terrible and her poetry is worse, so any attempt at roleplaying would be incredible to behold. I imagine all the cliches, like the overly long descriptions of hair, makeup, clothes and accessories, writing out actions with asterisks around them instead of actually writing out the action (such as *smiles* instead of 'she smiled'), ridiculous purple prose that doesn't actually mean what she thinks it means (the number of times I've seen rpers refer to eyes as 'oculars' is both hilarious and depressing), sad wish fulfillment and so on.
