My cat got spayed recently so i can say that yes, they shave them BALD. Otherwise the hair gets in and causes infection. They go in with clippers and then a disposable razor when they're sedated. This is 100% not a vet shave or a standard vet issue cone. They usually give out clear plastic ones.
