I wouldn't be surprised of Destiny doesn't really 'get' promise rings or engagement rings. Aside from being a sped she's around 19, right? Show of hands for all the normal intelligence folks here- who could imagine being with a single person the rest of their lives at 19? Aside from the very religious where it's expected or the shot gun wedding crowd, that's a very tough concept to grasp.

And aren't promise rings meant to symbolize abstinence until marriage? Aside from the concept being dumb, hasn't she slept with all her girlfriends anyway? I guess the promise ring could also be a promise-I'll-marry-you-eventually ring, but in that case just get an engagement ring.
 
I always thought promise rings were just pre-engagement rings. A sort of "I'm not ready to be wed right now but i promise to marry you someday when we are both ready"

Edit; a small powerlevel but some of my relatives are pretty strict, and none of my cousins were really allowed to date / the relationship wasn't approved of unless the boy was 'committed' and gave them a promise ring. But it was also a wishy washy thing that was common in highschool, or at least in my area. It's like the horny and oh so so in love teens version of the engagement ring so I can see why Dustin would be in on the trend.

Yep. We all know Dana is a stunner but I don't think she was beating the guys away with a stick. I think Dustin probably showed her some attention and she figured why not. If all else fails she gets her taco taken care of and when she's missing the meat sausage she can say it was a phase and go back to looking for her very own Long Duk Dong.

Absolutely. Her age is one of the defining factors of why her relationships are so shallow and short-lived.

You have to, or should, really know the person before you get into anything as serious as a relationship, let alone "promise ring" country. In the real world, you don't just talk to someone online for two months, get sent a n00d, then have your grandparents drive you to their ex-girlfriend's house to get them in the middle of the night, and hold hands the whole way back, then "GET ENGAGED!!!11!1!!ONE!" It just doesn't work that way.

Amberlynn is a moron, but she's at least semi-intelligent, and that's the reason I know for a fact that she took advantage of Destiny. Any sane person would be able to see that no, this isn't right, none of it is. It happened with Kasey, and it happened with Destiny, two girls who were/might as well have been considered minors.

AL played on their emotions and let them act out their knight in shining armor fantasies, but they soon became the damsel in distress that they thought she was. She beats them down, bleeds them dry, and moves into the next available YOUNG girl's family home.

It's why I still don't think Destiny has more than 30% blame in their breakup. She's just a young, dumb kid. The difference is, AL wants to seem like a young, dumb kid, but she's actually a conniving, whining, nearly 30 year-old predator.
 
When is Kristal supposed to be visiting? I cannot WAIT for that. It is going to be awesome to see her and AL's romance be *rekindled*, and then, days later, to see the look on Kristal's parents' faces when AL shows back up at their door with her suitcase! You know she'l be vlogging the big surprise because of how DEVASTATED Kristal's family was when she moved out!
 
I really just do not understand how anybody enters into a relationship with someone who, a couple of months previously, had posted about how infatuated they were about another person publicly on social media. It would be a major flag for emotional immaturity to me. Looking at her social media even for a brief second shows you that Destiny falls infatuated for absolutely any girl who reciprocates feelings and then immediately moves in with them and throws them a ring. She is a textbook U-Haul lesbian and I did not even know that was a real thing.
 
I truly feel like it would take much more than AL losing weight for people to begin liking her. She could lose 300 pounds and I would still roll my eyes at her if her attitude remained the same. I started watching her when she was much more soft-spoken and actually attempting to lose weight (when she lived with Krystle's family). Although she was much more tolerable at that time, I remember even then questioning why she wasn't working. It just seemed like she was mooching off this girl's family while not driving and not working.
She took an absolute turn for the worst, though, when she ended up meeting and moving in with Destiny. Not only did she gain 200 plus pounds, but her attitude just became deplorable. She became loud and obnoxious. You could often see her being snarky on camera (and that's just what was shown on camera - imagine how she was off of camera). She had every excuse in the world for why she wasn't losing weight. She was caught lying multiple times. She almost proudly showed off that she was perfectly fine inconveniencing others so that she could remain dependent. And last, but certainly not least, she just LOVED sharing sob stories of what a victim she is. ALWAYS A VICTIM.
She is genuinely a bad person. I 110% believe that and have for a very long time (Kelly Bensimon on YouTube).
IF she finally got a fucking clue that her attitude needs to drastically change and she started being accountable for herself and started working hard at some type of job, I would honestly be happy for her. It's all in her attitude. She can get down to a size 4 and look gorgeous but if she is still the same AL on the inside that we have all come to know and despise, I will continue to think she's a shitty human being.
And sadly, if she does somehow change her attitude and become a better person, I feel like her views will tremendously drop because she won't be the trainwreck that many people have come to laugh at and hate-watch. But if I were her, I would much rather become a better person on both the outside and inside instead of remaining a depressed, miserable super morbidly obese woman who is laughed at and mocked on a daily basis on the Internet.

Now that Destiny is gone, who will come to her rescue? There's so many reasons why she should stop being a hamplanet but she chooses to live in denial. What if she DOES fall over again in her townhouse, who will pick her up? Will she crawl to her cellphone to call for assistance with one of her enablers?

Amberlynn's youth can only take her so far. She's nearing the 30's, and with her massive size her body is going to start failing on her if it hasn't already. Young bodies are really resilient, but even they have a breaking point. I just think about the people on my 600-lb life who are smaller than AL and how they have trouble just existing...

See this is when I feel empathy for her. Then I remember she's such a shit person and a predator. She literally preys and manipulates young vulnerable lesbians and continues to live in her denial bubble.
 
Destiny and this groups behavior reminds me of middle school romances. You get together with someone, eat with them in the cafeteria which tells everybody you are a couple. Next stop is to buy them a necklace or promise ring to declare your everlasting love and future intentions when you grow up.

Then a new kid sits at the table. One of the couple eyes them for a minute, whispering starts, and the next thing you know there is a text message breakup. The old couple is put on the past and a new one starts. Friends can either pick sides or let it go.

This happens over and over until about junior year of high school, when maturity starts to kick in. Relationships last longer, new people aren't so tempting because you already have a sense of courself and what you like in a partner. You are growing up and not playing games.

So yeah, all this gossip and all this Destiny/Dana/Amber stuff is just middle school romance BS and it wasn't serious with AL and isn't with Dana. Some new obese cow will come along and steal Dustin's affections.

They say you stop developing emotionally at about the time an addiction takes hold, because you use that as your crutch. They are all addicted to food so are all emotionally on the level of middle schoolers. They don't know how to have a mature relationship. You go through pain to grow but if you stuff pain down with food (or alcohol or whatever) you don't. They eat emotionally and switch partners and nothing is serious.

The question is when - not what if. She will fall again. And when that happens, she'd better pray someone is there. She needs one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up!" buttons that she can attach to a choker. Slaaay!
