For me the problem with invincble spinoffs is that everything feels like bootlegs of DC comics with some Marvel. So why not just read the real deal?

Invincible itself got people interested because the Viltrumites, but it's overall not a very original universe. With very few exceptions the characters feel like Venture Bros parodies.

Love the Old tech jacket? Them why not just read blue beetle or green lantern for sci fi instead. Like The new girl tech jacket? Why not just actually read some Peni Parker, or Miraculous Ladybug. I mean it Is a kid's cartoon but thats were they ripped her off, Etc.

Cheap subversions and bootlegs Saiyan Kryptonians it's all it has going for it.
The bootleg saiyan kryptonians aren't even THAT interesting, I'm like 100% sure the only reason the Viltrumites are popular is a byproduct of them being the only guys that matter in Invincible, which itself was essentially carried by the murder mystery main plot of season 1, we don't know anything about these guys or their empire outside of recent basic history, those ugly-ass spaceships, and one planet, other than like the TEN named Viltrumites and the random background fodder that sometimes shows up in the background to remind you that more of them exist (I think the most egregious case of this is in the comics where when it's shown that earth cock and pussy have a 100% sucess rate on taming Viltrumites, Anissa, Krieg, and Lucan are the only guys in Thragg's throne room he calls out for immediately turning native.) but for some reason I keep seeing people post about them like they're one of the coolest alien races ever just because they have a cool name, then when you see them actually talk about what they DO it's always just "dudee they can blow up planets!"

They're an entire race of Potential Man so that means they're the average power scaler's wet dream.

they would have been more interesting if their backstory had never been revealed. "we viltrumites are a dying race and i won't tell you why but i will say it wasn't our fault" is not as bad as "the king was murdered and i took over and was really mad so i told everyone to start killing each other until i got bored so they immediately started killing each other and then one of our race decided to unleash a plague that wiped out most of us and we couldn't replenish our numbers which in hindsight made the whole kill each other thing kind of stupid but damn it we proved our superiority over ourselves anyway we're going to fuck your women so we can pretend we're still powerful when we find a different planet, deal? deal."

It would've been more interesting if the scourge virus had nothing to do with Thaeus or thaddeus or whatever his name is, or if he wasn't even a Viltrumite, the scourge virus is KINDA interesting because it was a threat they couldn't possibly fight against, but Thaedus being behind it changes it from the galaxy eventually adapting to counter them and show they're not unstoppable, into just another Viltrumite killing a bunch of Viltrumites, which when you think about it should make Thaedus the most respected guy around, shouldn't it? He took out their emperor and 99% of the population, you can't even call the way he killed Argall cowardly because the Viltrumites are CONSTANTLY ambushing people, and Thragg got 50% of their population killed and everyone still followed him.

The entire thing with Viltrumites killing each other because Thragg wanted to get rid of their weakness doesn't makes that much sense if you consider that Argall was murdered by one of the arguably most powerful Viltrumites in existence, so really wouldn't it make more sense if they would try to kill all stronger people, logically speaking?

The Viltrumite empire really stopped working as a super villain faction when we actually learn more about it, since it's just a few evil empire cliches and tropes stitched together that anyone who is older than 12 should have already seen better executed in tons of other media.

But in general Invincible has the issue that there aren't many interesting badguy organisations around, we had the lizard league who just died in their debut, we have that super rad and dangerous crime syndicate that only exists for standing around in the background during the Titan x Machinehead x Mr. Liu love triangle stories and otherwise just a bunch of evil randos who pop up and sometimes come back in a later episode.

I think the reason a lot of people are wondering about the rape is to see how they handle it or if they even do at all.
First, I genuinely can’t think of a show this big, or really any show from the West, that has a woman rape a guy and especially have it played for serious rather than a gag. Second, the show has changed enough things from the comics that people are wondering if they’ll even touch that subject.
And lastly, kind of an unspoken thing, is that even compared to Cuckman the show is a bit more feminist in certain regards but not exactly in a bad way (aside from Atom Eats and Amber), so if they do include it it’s up in the air how they’ll even handle it or if they’ll fuck it up big time.

Iirc, there was a story where if Superman landed in medieval Earth but, not only that, his parents were able to go along with him, leading the House of EL becoming an actual kingdom led by two seemingly indestructable king and queen along with their prince.

It was pretty unique.
Y'know I finally found the motivation to search for that. It is Superman: Kal and it's a single 60-page issue that was... fucking incredible, really. Thanks for planting a seed in my subconciousness about it. Higly recommend anyone to check it out:

Love the faux-antique artstyle. It's as good as Supergod, which is another short, 5 issue and ~120 page concept that takes a simple Greek Myth that superheroes fundamentally are and does something fresh and original with it.

I'm starting to wonder if they're actually going to keep Mark getting raped or if they're going to try and soften it somehow.
Let's be real they'll probably pussy out and either make it a consensual affair, kill anissa and/or skip over it entirely, or show her pinning him down and slightly tearing at his clothes and the rape will get offscreened. People keep seeing the scene is needed to represent male sexual assault or some shit, but all the arc contributes to in the comics is a kinda irrelevant rape baby and some more copy and pasted "Eve, I'm sad!" "It's okay Mark, let's have sex" scenes that are their whole dynamic, I don't think anyone's gonna miss it.

Some guy on Xitter predicted that Marky's conception would be the result of an affair in the Amazon show. I wonder how well that prediction's going to age.

If they do keep it then they'll probably do a cut to black at the end of the episode or something. Odds are that they'll have some special trigger warning at the beginning too.
Also,
"Atom Eats" :story:

Isn't there a lot of stuff you could cut out without anyone missing it?

Like the hell arc, the removal off which enhances the story as proven by the original comic.

Or Mark going into the dytopian future where Immortal went crazy because his future self is too retarded to see if the guy that he knows will probably turn into a crazy dictator maybe gets negatively influenced by the fucking Andross brain from Star Fox that he gave him. Cutting that stuff would remove nothing important and Mark would automatically become 10% less retarded.

Or the reboot arc that wasn't important for anything in the comics.
