Have any of you actually read her blog?

I've read a lot of it. She does not deny or try to hide that she was once considered gifted and spoke fluently. She talks a lot about her childhood and adolescence, about how she used to speak, about how she used to have a gifted-level IQ and attended gifted programming and an elite college at age 14.

I don't know if she's autistic or not. But she certainly seems to genuinely think that she is, and always has been, even when she spoke and was labeled as gifted. I don't think she's trying to trick anyone. If she was, she wouldn't be posting about her history as a gifted, fluently speaking child on the internet.

I'm autistic. I have an official diagnosis from neuropsych testing and everything. Autistic people can be gifted. Many are. Autistic people can speak. Many do. Even non-speaking autistic people can write well. Many non-speaking autistic people communicate entirely through writing, and are some of the best writers I know. And it is not at all uncommon for autistic people's abilities to vary, sometimes drastically, over the course of their lives. There are many reasons this can happen. Some people regress after going through trauma or more change than they can handle. Some regress when they are stressed. I speak, I am generally very articulate and extroverted, but I sometimes go nonverbal when I'm stressed and need to use AAC similar to what Amanda now uses all the time.

We know that Amanda went through trauma when she was institutionalized for two years as a teenager following her breakdown at Simon's Rock. She claims to have been abused at that facility. That can certainly cause regression (and even if she *wasn't* autistic, anyone who has been traumatized will respond to that with behavioral changes of some kind). She also used recreational drugs at Simon's Rock, and has been prescribed various psychotropic drugs since she was a child. Heavy, long-term drug use can absolutely cause changes in behavior as well as brain damage.

I do think it's highly unusual that her IQ dropped from 140 as a child to 85 at age 22. Amanda has expressed confusion with this as well (she said she expected to get around 125). That usually doesn't happen, even to actually autistic people. The only explanation I can think of for that is the combination of drug use causing brain damage and the trauma. The IQ test is just a test. You can definitely do poor on a test, even if you're a smart person, if you're having a mental breakdown because you were recently abused/traumatized.

This combination of trauma and drug use could also be causing all the health issues (and the health issues, in turn, are probably not helping either her intelligence or her functioning).

Does anyone else think this is a super common response to the Farms, where they completely miss the point? Yeah, some people here just wanna be mean bigoted ignorant trolls, sure. But the majority of us are completely aware that real autistic people fit your description, and lots of our members are autistic or have autistic family members. Nobody is saying those things are untrue (except maybe a few posts from dumb people). What we're looking at here are the inconsistencies and the exhibitionism. We're not interested in "normal" people here, including "normal" autistics.

i agree but she lived at decker towers she dont any more. but she lived there its advertised and promoted as a place for elderly and disabled, but 80 percent of the residents are mentally ill, and largely untreated un-monitored , i know i lived there for almost 4 years when a so called advocacy group sold it on me as a disabled community with supports ect. and i knew amanda personally, she was a friend until her true side came out and when i also got suspicious of her, but yes i agree she should be held accountable but like i said about new england, they are so liberal very passive, its all about choice and let live, anything goes society. they see her as crazy and ill which she is and they pity her and ignore it ;-/..i still say she should b e held accountable but as far as i know she gets services from howard mental health and she runs them social workers like her servants i seen her multiple times, shes a bitch and she loves to play up that victim card any time she can ( yes many social workers can be abusive,), but she just walks all over people and blames everyone but herself.

In a situation like this, a single person would be hard pressed to make any headway in getting Amanda investigated. Amanda has fought tooth and nail to be recognized as a TRUE and HONEST autist, to the point where she has threatened legal action against people who knew her IRL before she started acting this way and can directly dispute her claims. Some rando in her town ain't gonna be able to do shit.

Situations like these are frustrating, where a cow is doing something obviously wrong and it takes fucking years for them to face any kind of consequences because someone is sitting on bombshell evidence that they either can't or don't want to make public for fear of retribution or shame. It's why it took so many years for Nick Bate to finally wind up in jail, it's why we're only now seeing Purple Kecleon and her cuck harem under fire over info that has been known for years, but nobody had that smoking gun. It's entirely possible that Amanda could very well get away with this shit up until she dies, with the truth not being made widely known until after she's dead.

I was absolutely shocked. That sounds like a more extreme version of a cow I've dealt with personally, Sugar. She, too, would adopt traits from people around her and encorperate them into her personality, with the most extreme example being deciding to become transgender because someone else in her friend group came out as a transman.

I'm surprised she isn't kin with anything. I take asexual with a big grain of salt these days. It's become too tumblrtarded and even has its own flag.
