I recently discovered this wicked bass player named Charles Berthoud he's unfortunately British, but he's a pretty awesome bass player and his music's pretty decent. But this thread's not about him. Because I've been watching a bunch of that dude's videos, youtube's been recommending random bass related videos. Just now I was scrolling through youtube and this video caught my eye.
I sat there for a good two minutes just staring at the screen trying to comprehend what the fuck I was watching and listening to.
I can't believe how bad it is. It's just him playing a bunch of random notes and walking through scales on his bass while the DJ dude makes weird synth noises. The mixing and mastering is terrible. His bass tone is just the fucking worst. He can barely fucking play the thing properly. It's a bit hard to hear because the rest of the noise drowns the bass out, but there are a ton of fret buzzes and just sloppy as fuck out of time playing.
He has a channel with a bunch of these videos that are all pretty much just the same shit:
I've heard a lot of shitty amateur soundcloud tier music before but the combination of weird tranny with incredibly shitty bass playing, combined with the awful sound production, the wannabe professional video bullshit with the crappy stock looking visual effects, the low viewer count with obligatory handful of simping comments and the Vevo license to top it off just makes this so fucking hilarious.
