So how do this come to be? It was my understanding that Ben got outbid, and they did some illegal scam to try to win anyway. Then they lost in court. This was years ago though, how did they end up winning? We need a serious rundown of this shit now!
tl;dr: Ben didn't even get outbid. He colluded with the court-appointed bankruptcy appointee and very likely the judge to make himself the only bidder in a "silent auction" and then declare himself the winner. A large part of the bid wasn't even real money, it was getting the two families involved in the suit to write-down their proceeds from the settlement to give him funny money for bidding.
It was massively fucked up and third-world levels of corrupt and should have gotten that Judge de-benched in all honesty.
Ben knows there would be a bidding war, Alex Jones has (had?) some funding in his corner that was going to retain control of infowars and keep Alex in charge or otherwise make Ben pay out the ass. There are documents various bidders put into the court after Ben's previous attempts at "Rules for thee" that say "If auctioned openly, I will bid this much for infowars" and they are way more than Ben would be able to convince the investors who bankroll the Onion they should spend for him to "pwn the chuds" for a few months until he gets bored.
What Ben has managed to do is end run the bidding war by not buying Infowars but "leasing" it. They are leasing it for $81,000 which IIRC is what Alex Jones nets from it - I cannot find the source on that figure but its not random, and is to claim that Ben will be funding the judgement fund faster than allowing the site to continue to operate as-is.
This is still really fucked up and Ben doing the same "no bid" end-run he was trying to do, and I think discounts the damage having two unfunny libtard faggots try to operate the site, but w/e.
That makes no sense. They WON the bid. Are you saying there was another bid after some sort of court case? Is there somewhere we can find this info?
See above. They didn't "win" the auction. THere was a fucked up "silent auction" they claimed to use plantiff judgement write-down to win.
Looks true, even according to NPR. The bankruptcy district court judge just appointed a receiver. While it's likely that will result in Ben Collins and his soy beard retard buddies owning it, they don't yet.
Exactly this. There is a proposal to lease infowars for several months with an option to renew that has been recieved favoribly by the court but there is still options for appeals and counter motions.
Meanwhile eric was the one with talent, the one who didn't get into a screaming match with Sam Hyde out of jealousy
Both of them are unfunny cancerous faggots and I hope they die, but hopefully Tim first.
