Before I encountered them in the medical setting, I had no contact with babies, so I kinda get how terrified he is. When you first hold a baby (especially a lil prem) you're kinda terrified you'll break it, and that's how Noah looks. But he's also patting Ari like she's a puppy lol.
He kinda looks like he's being filmed for an episode of 16 & Pregnant, where everyone knows he's gonna bounce within 6 months.

I one million percent agree. The first time I had my own I had never really been around a baby. It’s fucking scary.
He def reminds me of a few dads on 16 & pregnant. There’s no way he can also stay “sober” if he jumps right into sahd life. I bet he will be gone again pretty quick. For “muh mentulz”
ETA. Poor idiot. He does literally pet her instead of a pat or a solid lil hug. I dunno if it’s dumb, drugs, or scared but he is not at all equipped to be a dad.

Friend of mine who never really held babies or was around them much until his first born has a similar 1000 yard stare photo of the first time he held his kid. The difference is that he's a great dad and very involved. Situation was also very different with the childbirth going sideways and nearly losing the both of them, which was his worst fear at the time. He hates that photo because instead of enjoying his newborn he's staring off into the distance, shell-shocked.
I wonder how long it'll take Noel to snap and leave them high and dry? After Ari gets the green light to go home? Couple weeks? Handful of months? He's obviously going to be gone before Ari turns one unless he has a come-to-jesus moment (for real) and somehow can balance having a helpless infant as well as a partner that is equally helpless. Being a full time caregiver to someone disabled like Alex wears you down, I can't imagine adding a baby on top of that.

It says a lot about how open to learning these two goobers are that the NICU nurses aren't there helping Noah hold the baby like a human instead of a beta ape. What do you think the chances are that the nurse thought it wasn't worth the money to have these two be rude at her for doing his job versus her trying and just being scorned while they ignored her professional advice?
Alex can't really do much except lean back with baby on her chest. I'm not sure if that's completely safe either because of her limited mobility and strength so she'd probably need to be watched so accidents don't happen. I think it would depend on how wiggly bub is, which I don't have a frame of reference for as I carried my children until 40-41 weeks and were all nearly double Ari's birth weight.

I’m having a hard time not going full MATI retard over that latching post. Alex is a disgrace. Her baby being latched (someone else pressing the baby’s face against Alex’s tit isn’t exactly what I would classify as breastfeeding) for the sake of a photo opportunity is the perfect encapsulation of Alex’s narcissistic parenting. Perhaps this won’t confuse the baby, but it is exploitative. It is abusing the natural instincts of a baby for content. Truly despicable.

Whoever called DCFS before anything even happened is stupid - and you did it just to be mean. Don't delude yourself you're better than Alex. The baby is going home with them and making DCFS mad with crying wolf hurts the baby. You have bad moral character. You put hurting Alex's feelings above the safety and well-being of an innocent child so you could enhance your unwarranted self-esteem. And if that person sees this, you're probably hung up on not being personally high fived by Kiwi Farms/Reddit, but it should destroy you that your petty cruelty is published on the internet forever.
If Noah sticks around for years and turns Alex's place into a drug house and abuses them, some of the blame is on your shoulders. I wish you would come forward and brag about it. I really do. If someone tried to destroy my family, I would devote a lot of energy to finding out who THEY were and making sure everyone around them knew about their little hobby. I don't think Alex and Nitwit-ler have that kind of drive or cunning, but maybe we all will be pleasantly surprised. We might see you very soon.

Being disabled and a new parent doesn't mean DCFS is definitely checking up on you - Someone complained. Doesn't have to be an internet loser, but let's examine the language:
She said that the complainant said, per the SW, she was "very very disabled" and mentioned Noah's addiction. The nature of "very very disabled" and the harping on Noah's dope habit tells us it isn't staff because you know there's no way in creation they are being up front about their needs as a family. It was some idiot hopefully from Reddit and not here.
Alex's friends are insensitive and immature dummies like her. Let's be real. We all know the call came from the internet.

If DCFS/CPS (whichever name is used in a place) is able to do their job, then Ari is a prime candidate. The role of child and family services is to try to keep families together, and support parents to safely raise their kids. Alex needs more support than the usual mother to care for her baby, and in socialised medicine lands she would be set up with carers and supports for baby.
(But of course the reality is usually that these services struggle to keep up with their caseloads except for the most dire cases.)

My guess is that the call originated from a Reddit user. They love clutching their pearls and moralizing over there. And they have a chronic inability to understand the difference between something being morally wrong and something being actionable by DCFS.
