Aladdin remake trailer/general - robin williams didn't die for this
That girl next to her in the “Prince Ali” song making all the goofy faces and dancing. The “quirky best friend that acts however she wants because lol who cares” type.
They would have been fucked no matter who they got for the Genie. Robin Williams left an impact on the role that is nigh impossible to outdo. The fact that Disney knew this and tried anyway and wasted millions of dollars on it is honestly pretty disgusting.
I'm guessing she's replacing Rajah as Jasmine's sounding board. She'll probably also end up with the rejected suitor, ala Charlotte in Princess and the Frog.
I mean Shaq would have had so much !ore stage presence no one could fault it. Anything would've been better than casting the least threatening choice of Will Smith.
I've heard it's Alan Tudyk who's been cast Iago, and Tudyk is a pretty good voice actor, but Gottfried is hard to top.
I think it's pretty sad that the only character to be treated with respect appears to be Carpet, but the original film was still more impressive in Carpet's animation given the time period.
They didn't want to hire him because he has told far too many Nigger Jokes.
I mean let's not forget this is the same man who was in a room where 15 black comedians tried to roast a Klan Grand Wizard and he was the only one who successfully did so and then shook the hand of the Klansmen afterward.
I don’t remember who said it, but the comment was essentially “I think it says something that they didn’t even cast Iago until after the movie was made.”
I heard a bit of Will Smith's version of "Friend Like Me" in a radio commercial and I thought to myself, "Only Robin Williams can sing this song. Well, maybe Koichi Yamadera could." Well, guess who's the Japanese genie?!

the movie comes out this week and there's not a single early review? is that typical for Disney movies? or a sign that this will be the horseshit we all expect?
