This is no guarantee that they won't reoffend. The compulsion of true pedos goes beyond just wanting to get off with a child. If theyre a true pedo they will find drugs like testosterone that will get their stuff working. There are cases, and even a doc on people who have done this to quell desires. It doesn't work.

The obvious fallacy of this law is that a pedo could just strap on, well, a strapon, and get back to work.
It would be much better to hand out the death penalty for anyone convicted for molestation with irrefutable evidence (this greatly reduces the chance of repeat offenders). To balance this out, however, it would be important to provide adequate facilities for them to get help, before they offend. Pretty much a win-win.

I'm all about stopping rape dead in its tracks, but this alone won't solve everything.
I'm in agreement with @Kazami Yuuka on this - counseling & jail time for first - timers, then castration for repeat offenders (if evidence is there to proceed with punishment, of course.). Otherwise, I can see this, like any law aimed at the general public, being easily misused, awesome as it reads (glancing at it, that is.).

While I certainly have no love for child molesters, I think this is definitely unconstitutional and I'm pretty sure the Constitution doesn't have a "this applies to everyone except people we think are really, really super-awful" clause.
