That video, played at 2x speed, is like a racism producing machine.

It blows my mind sometimes when I step back and try to think about what this would look like to an objective observer - like perhaps an extraterrestrial - who isn't buried in this culture like we are.

Someone gets murdered and white people come running in with yellow police tape and start producing paperwork and records and so on. But the person who was killed, and the person who did the killing, aren't from a race that has any interest in "systems" like that ...which is why they never produced any.

We (white people) imposed this system on them. They don't understand it, and they don't care about it. When we're gone, they wont maintain it - they might ape it for a while like a cargo cult, but cannot maintain it, nor do they care to.

I wonder what it'd be like if another race came into my life and imposed complex rules that I don't care about, around some action that I barely even notice. Like what if all the Japanese rules of politeness and such were imposed on me. I can imagine there being ...friction.
