I want to Sandler do one of two things. Childrens TV show host or softcore porn star.

Either way it'll be mediocre.

Agree but unironically. His acting in films like Reign Over Me and Punch Drunk Love are breathtaking, his earlier films like Billy Madison and The Wedding Singer which he wrote the majority of the scripts for are very funny and That's My Boy is amusing in the 'look at all this disgusting stuff that's happening' kind of way. I think the reason his non-dramatic films have had a massive downturn in quality is that he got lazy. When you can easily make a lot of money by not even trying and when the films that you want to make like Shown and Little Nicky do poorly with critics and audiences then what's the point in putting effort in? I know it's incredibly optimistic but to me it seems that each of his Netflix films gets 'better' with Sandy Wexler being half watchable and Myerowitz Stories (which he had no creative control in) was fantastic and well acted by everyone.

I hope that his next film The Week Of is actually good but the odds are not high. I really do think that he should probably just switch to full time acting but if his trash movies keep doing well (his Netflix films routinely become the most watched film on Netflix for the moth it's released.

Here's to another probable decade of shit.
 
I can't hate him because of Punch Drunk Love

That's one of my all time favourite movies and his performance is so goddamn relatable.

Granted I want him to do more serious work (which he is, he's starring in a crime thriller coming out later this year), but that's it.

Its true though, he's had good movies, bad movies, and then worse movies. His stand up ain't bad and his old shit is so good that as long as you focus in on that and just kind of ignore the newer stuff, you'll be okay and he'll be good forever.

Ridiculous Six was so fucking retarded though, holy shit I rarely turn movies off halfway through and I turned that shit off at minute 45 or so
 
I understand why he does what he does, he makes money hand over fist with the terrible comedies while at the same time having vacations with friends, but I really would like to see him take more roles like the Meyerowitz stories or Reign over Me or even in the more comedic role as funny people, he really can be a good actor at times.

Jack and Jill is one of the worst comedies of all time with one random great joke in it.

The joke where Al Pacino's Oscar gets destroyed, Jill says "I'm sure you have more", and Al says "You would think so, but no" was like a all-time great joke. The rest of the movie was one of the most unfunny/cringy movies ever.
