Discuss ad blockers like uBlock Origin, AdBlock Plus, and other ad blockers, along with recommended filter lists and controversies surrounding ad blockers, such as YouTube blocking ad blockers, or simply show your appreciation for ad blockers keeping the internet usable.

I started using Brave browser because so many on kf recommended it when the chrome add-on death happened. Glad I did. My kid kept complaining about YouTube ads now he uses it too.

Brave Mobile is really good since it lets you play YouTube in the background, otherwise I mostly use the typical Firefox + uBlock Origin combo on PC.

Blocktube is just so handy, sick of seeing brown slop, to much goy or trannies i just add it to a full channel block list. Oh and sponsor block it's user generated so times things get skipped incorrectly however i've not seen a in sponsor ad for ages it's great.

Oh, one other good thing about Revanced: you can have Sponsorblock on mobile. It's really nice if you wanna just listen to music (especially while driving) since you can have it auto-skip non-music sections of MVs.

Is revanced via brave or a separate app, cause i'd love the sponsorblock aspect of it.

ReVanced is an Android app that lets you patch the stock YouTube app to add/remove features etc (a large number of the YouTube specific patch devs had a falling out with the head dev/project owner of ReVanced and split to form Morphe, which is another option, possibly more up to date and faster updating)
Sponsorbock is available for browsers as well as integrated into both ReVanced/Morphe

I was about to warn you that Brave is a Chromium fork and its adblocking will likely be broken when Jewgle drops manifestv2 support but I looked it up and apparently that happened already like a year ago and I just didn't hear about it.

Did they suckseed in gimping adblockers on their dogshit browser after all?

I've been using uBlock Origin/Adnauseum + Sponsorblock in Fennec/Firefox on Android/Graphene and haven't had an issue in years. You can play in background with an addon called Video Background Play Fix. There are a lot of Firefox addons that fix other Youtube bullshit, e.g. remove shorts, remove the tracking tag from urls, choose a default video quality, and also anti-tracking/anti-fingerprinting addons. Fennec is a fantastic mobile browser in general because you can install addons from .xpi files still, so you can install addons built for desktop or older Firefox versions or whatever you want instead of the gay retarded joke of a selection the tranny dev team whitelists for use on mobile. It also seems less likely to get cucked in the near future than standalone apps, marginally.

Tangentially, I switched to Graphene when Jewgle announced the next phase of their plan in their war on their customers to start disallowing you from installing software on devices you bought and paid for without their explicit consent, and I haven't encountered a dealbreaker yet, though I don't use my phone for much in the first place. Not really sure whether it will retain the functionality to install from .apk after Jewgle goes full retard because the dev is an autist but it can't possibly be worse than stock Android moving forward.

Also, in addition to adblockers, I'd recommend figuring out how to enable a reader view, on both desktop and mobile. Some browsers come with one natively, some have been cucked out of it and need an extension or config/flag tweaks to add one back in. Basically it removes everything but the pertinent text of a page, at least in theory. My process when visiting unfamiliar sites is to adblock everything, and if a site does something gay and retarded like throw a popup for a mailing list or autoplay a video then I disable javascript, and if it's still gay then I switch to reader view, and if they've fucked up so badly that reader view doesn't tell me what I'm looking for then I just find a different site.

Anyway, I've been using adblockers since Firefox 3.something and if it wasn't for the teams developing and maintaining them I literally would just not use the internet at this point, so hats off to them. I genuinely cannot fucking fathom what it's like to be a normie and get jewed out of your life thirty seconds at a time. I'd also like to thank the elite jeet capital at Jewgle and Microshaft for giving me the necessary push to gut their spyware from my devices through their constant efforts to make my life worse for a meager profit they'll never ever capture. I will sooner switch to Linux and/or abandon smartphones and the Internet entirely than acquiesce to you wasting my fucking time, the one resource a man cannot get more of. There's increasingly less to lose in doing so anyway.

Brave's adblocker isn't an extension so it isn't affected by this, it's built into the browser itself.

I think the thing with Brave is the adblocker is built into the browser itself so MV3 doesn't apply to it. I know they brought out uBlock Lite to get around it but Brave is the only Chromium browser I use so I've never tried it.

My setup is nothing uncommon for these parts:
  1. Librewolf with Sponserblock & ublock origin
  2. piHole setup on a rpi3b+
I'm not satisfied yet with my piHole setup yet, I need to educate myself still on a decent setup that isn't annoying that it blocks everything.

I have Brave because I want YouTube to be usable, works without problem.

Big winner for the fight against AIDS.

Stir fry advertisers in a wok. Toss advertisers into active volcanoes. Urinate into a advertiser's gas tank. Judo throw advertisers into a wood chipper. Twist advertisers' heads off. Report advertisers to the BBB. Karate chop advertisers in half. Trap advertisers in quicksand. Crush advertisers in the trash compactor. Liquefy advertisers in a vat of acid. Eat advertisers. Dissect advertisers. Exterminate advertisers in the gas chamber. Stomp advertiser skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate advertisers in the oven. Lobotomize advertisers.
