Our personality traits can be split into two categories. Those which we truly feel, and those that we see as a virtue and decided to adopt. I'll use the response to Charlie Kirk's death as an example (not to sperg out, I just think it's a good example). "Tolerant" leftists celebrated his death. Obviously, they weren't truly tolerant, but tolerance is seen as a virtue in leftist circles so they adopted it. As soon as it become acceptable to deny someone tolerance, the mask slipped.

This has made me realise that truly virtuous people are hard to find, and some truly bad people just can't help it.

I think that's a bad example, deep down they want to eliminate the enemy, its just a matter of who decides who is the enemy for them.

"Is the old woman really that wicked?"
"No," said Takuan enigmatically. "She's a very good woman."
....
"Murder! How can you say she's a good woman?"
"Because she is without a doubt what the world calls good. She often goes to Kiyomizudera to worship, doesn't she? And when she's seated before Kannon with her prayer beads in her hand, she must be very close to Kannon in spirit."
"I hear she also prays to the Buddha Amida."
"There are lots of Buddhists like that in this world. The faithful, they're called. They do something they shouldn't, go to the temple and pray to Amida. They seem to dream up diabolical deeds for Amida to forgive. They'll quite cheerfully strike a man dead, perfectly confident that if they call on Amida afterward, their sins will be absolved and they'll go to the Western Paradise when they die. These good people are something of a problem."

It do be like that.

I adopted the personality trait of automatically disagreeing with anything a troon says. Is that a documented trait?

Virtues and principles by definition and spirit are things that deny your base desires and immediate gain to bring about a more stable circumstance. This is something that is almost entirely missing in the broader culture nowadays, it would be hyperbolic to say that it's completely without or else we would be in a gayer version of mad max instead of our current circumstance of going to out 5 - 9 jobs to afford more coonsoomer items. However, the average politicized American right and left wing have their line drawn in the sand and only care about owning the otherside for dopamine release, their entirely consumed by bestial excess and won't be satisfied until their flag is planted firmly in the anal cavity of their opposition, no one cares about policy or long term plans or deficits since were at a stagnant crossroads of what the spirit of America should be and it's direction going forward, why build ontop of something that your planning on demolishing and restarting from scratch is my estimation of what the current rabblerousers are up to.

Your personality isn't a choice. Let's say I love the taste of shit sandwiches, then that's part of my personality. I could choose to redeem my love for eating shit sandwiches by being a healthy eater then I have chosen to adopt a virtue to better my life. Does it mean I like devouring shit sandwiches less? Not likely. And in the worst cases you have incidents where people will just perform lip service to make the people around them happy or get them off their case, or like in your example fitting in with the group because they don't belong anywhere else.
