didn't expect much but it turned out fun. Upgrade

edit: didn't see Clop already recommended it

Old Boy, the original Korean version, is an action/revenge masterpiece. Don’t read anything about it beforehand, just dive in and experience it.

Última edición por un moderador:
Stephen Chow, especially Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer. I'd also recommend God of Cookery.
You also can't go wrong with The Blood and Ice Cream/Cornetto Triology.
Red Cliff is a two part movie about a historical Chinese War with some artistic liberties, if you played Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Dynasty Warriors, it may seem familiar to you.
If you don't mind anime, Sword of the Stranger was cool and flashy.

It was said in this thread before, but Upgrade was a good one. I loved it.
It was the best Venom film we could have asked for.

If you like Tollywood, I recommend Baahubali 1 and 2 on Netflix.

The Villainess is extremely underrated. Apparently they're making a series out of it?

I recently got the Sukeiban Deka two pack. I've never seen it but it looks like campy fun.

More of a thriller, but has some solid action sequences.

Breakdown (1997) is criminally underrated. Very solid movie, and one of Kurt Russell's best.

Here's an odd one.

16 Blocks, which stars Bruce Willis and Mos Def.

Its about an old and bitter cop (Willis) trying to get a witness (Def) to a court case that could expose corruption in the police force, so crooked cops try to stop them from making it to the court hearing by lethal force.

I had never heard of it and didn't expect much, but I was surprised to see how well the film worked out, and I think what really sold it for me was the growing friendship between the two leads which helps to carry the movie.

It is also interesting to see the usually bad ass Willis as a broken down old man try to get himself out of trouble.

The movie isn't an action packed spectacle necessarily, but it tense all the way throughout and is a solidly entertaining flick with some good performances.

Now that sounds like a great movie

Double posting cuz I'm still a pleb and can't edit. I just watched a movie called "revenger" and it's pretty decent if you are into old kungfu movies. It even has the cheesy hand movements. You guys should check it out.
