A question about how people of sound mind express themselves

So I was reading a post somewhere about "lolcow speech" and it brought an interesting point to my mind again. When interacting with others, one's speech tends to mark who someone might be mentally, and so someone might be called out for how they talk. However, it hasn't escaped me that how people go about themselves can be criticized both ways.

If one wants to speak more with less words, they might end up using very precise vocabulary so they can pack everything, but this might make them come off as a nerd who can't speak in layman's terms. However, if one wants to speak with clarity, they might end up being clear but also writing what comes off as a "wall of text" and they'd be called out for that.

If there was no compromise between the two, and you had to choose one, which would be more tedious for you reading-wise?

Regardless. The way you argue your point, if you're any good at what you do, resides in who you are addressing and the point you're trying to communicate.

If someone asks you something you don't want to elaborate on for any reason, don't bother putting the forms, make it intentionally obtuse and walk away.

If someone who knows what you're talking about asks, then go in depth and use appropriate language.

If someone who needs to understand what you do does not have the expertise, break it down for them.

It's not rocket science.

OK. Given the context, I guess that was misunderstood on my end. Seems like it's about people being teased about the way they interact with others.

I don't really care about what people think if it does not affect my goal in the interaction. I just adapt depending on the desired outcome.
