I'm sorry but there has never been anything comparable to Frasier or Seinfeld in the 25 years since. Maybe Arrested Development or IASIP.

you're thinking of two moderately good shows and not the 5000000000000000000000000 other awful flaming garbage piles like Just Shoot Me, or Roseanne, or Friends, or Saved by the Bell, or Will & Grace, or Boy Meets World, or Cheers, or Full House, or Home Improvement, or Wings, or Mad About You, or the aforementioned Ally McBeal, etc

I did actually genuinely enjoy Seinfeld, Frasier, Fresh Prince, and Third Rock from the Sun

For as annoying as 90s kids can be when talking about their youth, there is something to be said about oversimplification in modern design. McDonald's today has more in common with Starbucks than the N64 kiosks and PlayPlaces of yesteryear. It's as if they went out of their way to make their aesthetic as mundane as possible.
We're living through another malaise era, unfortunately. In the 1970s, it was faux wood paneling and underpowered cars. Now it's everything being painted Millennial Gray and obnoxiously bright LED light bulbs that make living rooms and kitchens look like hospital operating rooms. It still baffles me that people are remodeling their houses to look like this on purpose. Everyone has lost their minds.

Conspiracy time.

I think this is a deliberate attempt to make these places unpleasant and prison like as possible. I was in a McDs recently and the walls were covered in low res print (you could see the pixels/jpeg artifacts) depicting grey walls, rusted sheet metal, and graffiti.

The main reason for this is to get people out of the shop as quickly as possible. I know a guy who works in a cafe, and the mangement hates people hanging around. The money is in the till, them sitting around is wasting time and taking up space.

Or they're trying to appeal to black people by making it look like slums/prison.

The problem is when everywhere is like this, there's no where to go. I hear boomers complain about teenagers hanging around at the park, but when I ask where else should they hang out, they have no answer.
