A friend and I talked about games from our childhood and Creatures 2 was brought up. Never played it and seeing the gameplay doesn’t make me want to, but the game’s environment is gorgeous. An adventure game in this style would be sooo great!

The promotional renders are also cool.

It's clear the artists cared a lot more back then even though the tools were more primitive. Same thing with cell painting.

I think part of what made fnaf so visually striking is that Scott Cawthon is aesthetically trapped in the 90's.

They were capitalizing on VR being a fad at the time and had this whole subplot of Questworld, a VR Matrix-like simulation years before The Matrix came out.
