I think "backstabbing" is when you use your relationship with someone to actively attack them. Like if we're playing a video game together and you join my team, then I kill you and take your stuff, that's backstabbing. But if I don't invite you to my team and I just attack you out of the blue, it isn't.
I didn't feel like Brennan was a backstabber. I'm not saying Josh is wrong if he said that, he definitely knows a lot more about any financial relationships he had with Brennan than I do. But I am not aware of any information that would lead me to believe he's a backstabber.
I do feel that he is a betrayer, and that he has betrayed the cause.

Brennan's sin is extremely similar. He just hasn't fallen quite as far. That's not for lack of trying, he would have gone just as far as O'Rourke if the path were available to him. It's by the grace of God that he hasn't fallen farther. I don't really blame him entirely. His life is terrible, he suffers every waking moment. I think he's been defeated, he's a destroyed person. I don't think this aspect of him is the same as O'Rourke. He's not in the game anymore, when you see him you are not seeing an active participant in life. Fredrick Brennan is a corpse.
It's a shame, really. I actually had this guy lined up for a job interview and would have brought him onto a project with me. He even passed the phone screen. But he declined the interview during the process of going full retard.
