i think a better compromise would have been to allow some political discussion on other boards (/int/ for example was notorious for the jannies banning you for even MENTIONING a foreign leader) and bringing back /new/. that way youd still have a containment board for current events discussion while also allowing users to still be able to have the expression they want without having to go through /pol/

Yes, exact same thing happens in our threads. They'll start changing out letters or replacing them with accented characters or punctuation marks.
