I love the absolute death of the vermin who took over 4chan. Good job, you absolutely ruined one of the last bastions of free speech left on the Internet, just to protect your retard obsession with the idea that men chopping off their cocks somehow meant freedom.

Goddamn you to HELL with you.

That name sounds familiar. Was this tranny involved 8chan, fandom wiki or 7chan drama?

I didn't even know it was hacked, I was just watching a DSP shitpost and someone said "DSP outlived 4chan." Now I'm here.

The only way someone could make a "new" imageboard today and actually moderate it properly without going insane or handing off moderation to a group who will go insane (assuming it had a decent population) is to essentially make it an imageboard UI for a site you have to log in to. Basically everyone would need an account, but nobody's accounts or names would be visible to anyone else (unless they wanted to use them like a tripcode and selected the option), and the UI would resemble a standard imageboard. This would allow registration to be shut and opened to control overall poster counts, easier moderation, no need for a billion captchas to nerf bots, etc. The problem is that most imageboard users would not want to use such a site for numerous reasons, the main one being that anonymity is the main appeal and the fact that you need an account is a big risk to anonymity if the owner/mods ever decide to be fags about it. Null probably wouldn't be a fag about it but that's besides the point.
If the source code of such imageboard is open source then it could increase the credibility, otherwise it gets the big "HONEYPOT" stamp. Though to also allow moderation the posts would still be associated with your account, even if all identifiable data is hashed, profiling can still occur in case the database is leaked. In theory, the association could be nullified after a certain period has passed. This would mean in the case of a leak, any posts bar the most recent ones would be associated with your account, but it's not a perfect solution.
If it wasn't for discord raids a simpler solution would've been something similar to 2ch(I could be wrong since I've read it in a post a while back and haven't verified it personally, if so I apologize) where reports or disapproval are publicly counted and if enough people report it the posts are removed.
Can't you make it auto update every year with like...a line of code or two? I'm pretty sure theres like a library for thst
If PHP webdev works in a vaguely similar manner to JS then it could work for minor versions, but major versions often bring so called breaking changes that need to be addressed. Couple that with libraries that are no longer maintained and need to be replaced and you have some work to do. There's also updating the OS of the server but I don't know enough to speak on it.
