/x/ has had terrible moderation for years. There's at least one janny there who goes on crusades to squash discussions of anything he doesn't like, and is extremely oversensitive. 3 day bans get handed out like candy on Halloween on that board. I used to think the /tv/ jannies were overzealous until I started noticing /x/'s moderation 5 years ago. I've received more bans on /x/ than on all other boards combined.

Absolutely not. 95% of my posts on /tv/ were shitposts back in the day, yet I only ever received a single ban via that board. I've received 3 or 4 bans via /x/ in the past 5 years alone despite not breaking rules. It's preposterous.
90% of fanfic is smut of various flavours. And if you're actually posting high-quality fanfic, you're not going to go to a fucking imageboard of all places to post it; you'd just post it on a fanfic website and be done with it. Imageboard formats just guarantee that your effortpost will be washed away in a sea of low-quality bait and thinly-veiled porn threads.
Women don't really use imageboards, most of the "women" you're encountering on 4chan currently are trannies. If your special woman-only board somehow manages to avoid being overran with trannies (it won't), it'll just end up being a dead board like /po/. Advertisers don't care if your women are biological women or trannies, they're both treated as women for advertiser purposes. If anything, the reputation of being bio-female only and banning trannies would make any advertisers that'd specifically want female viewers want to avoid it like the plague for being "transphobic".
It's because of the jannies purity-spiralling and banning users who don't meet their standards of hating men enough for "being pickmes", or just accusing them of being trannies with zero evidence. 9/10 if you ask some women who used to post there why she stopped posting there, it's inevitably because some power-tripping janny banned them one too many times. Which will probably be what happens in your hypothetical "female-only" 4chan board, the jannies would somehow manage to have a worse rep than /tv/ jannies.

/m/ had TONS of high-quality fanfic in the late 2000s. That's the type of quality I want to foster, and I believe imageboards are the best way to do that -- it's anonymous and it won't get washed out in a sea of smut like on AO3.
