I suppose, but him saying "because of it" seems out of place
He said, "It's so fucked up that they would fire me, because of it[buying a condo close to work],' he's saying that's the reason it's fucked up, not that it's the reason they fired him. It's just awkward syntax.
Edit: It would be like if Chandler Riggs said, "and I just bought a house to be closer to the show. I planned on being a part of it for years. It's fucked up that they would fire me, because of it." Like why not let him know before he bought the house ya know?
