There's some questions about who exactly wanted Kamala Harris and to what alternatives they really had. If they had picked someone else, they would've had to have her pre-packed as VP because I can't imagine them screwing over her as well. The way democrats backstabbed Biden. They won’t run a white man unless Jews at the democrat party panic.
My money's on Kelly as the ultimate winner because Newsom probably isn't going to poll well outside of AWFLs and Californians, whereas Kelly can run on Trump trying to punish him (not unless Trump can definitively nail him to the wall for something that would destroy his political career and potentially send him to prison), then wheel out Giffords as the gun control argument, get bonus points for brain-damaged First Lady, and schmooze up to RINOs to appear "moderate".
AOC, Buttigieg, and Shapiro are toxic to huge swaths of the Democrat voting blocs, Beshear isn't really well-connected to the DNC power machine (if I recall he was popular locally enough to be the governor of Kentucky, but that doesn't translate to national popularity) and probably would be screwed out of the nomination one way or the other. Kelly's the only candidate that has the notoriety AND is in the DNC's pocket AND wouldn't flop with multiple demographics.
