except that he had a firearm and was in a fight with them. if you begin a fistfight or any other altercation with anyone, and as we can see they were literally getting into ICE's face and fucking with them, you are in trouble. doing so while having a deadly weapon means that the officers are now on the lookout for said deadly weapon's use. that same deadly weapon apparently going off as it was removed causes them to assume shots fired. i don't think it's anywhere NEAR as clear as you want to make it out.
one of the first things 911 operators will ask you is if a person involved in your call has a firearm of any kind, and they explicitly tell you to put your own firearms up, because having ANY firearms out means you are treated as if you will use it because if they don't treat you that way and you do, someone, potentially an innocent person, dies.

again, this is the same group of federal law enforcement who have people attempting to kill them in the streets every single day. it's not unreasonable at all to believe someone might be shooting at you.

Its not higher quality, it is a zoomed in AI re-rendering and sharpening of the pixelated mess we saw previously.
I would not trust any detail seen in that video as far as I can throw the AI model that rendered this.
It might still be true, but so far the video evidence presented has been too low quality to clearly see who fired and when, or what items the guy on the ground is holding in his hands.
It appears as if he is holding something in each hands, but that might be AI garbage rendering issues again, and is not reliable at all.
From the ground, with 6 ICE-agents on top of him and his gun removed from the holster by an agent?
That didn't look like he was trying to shoot people, when he was executed.

You'd be surprised how quickly someone can go from "safely restrained" to violent shooter. I don't care how many people were on top of him, the guy was still fighting and trying to get his gun. His intentions were clear with that action alone. Even if you're bad at it, attempting to shoot someone is still attempting to use lethal force against them and justifies a response in kind.

Quick update on the military banning the Sig for that discharge. (In community happening) It came out two airmen lied about it to cover one guy shooting the other.. while this is mentioned at the end of the updated article you linked, the text you provided doesn't make it clear it was brought back to service and wasn't the issue in that death.

The "flash" is a reflection off the bumper of the light colored vehicle behind the agent, visible between his legs.
The is no recoil visible on the gun or the agent's arm either.
This fake news reporting needs to stop.
