If they do, I hope it stretches to next week. Looking ahead at the weather forecast for Minneapolis, on the 17th a cold front will hit. Low of -4 and high winds.
 
If we're throwing out anecdotes: no one I know is talking about this. Not even in a "don't mention that, no politics in the office" kind of way. No one knows, no one cares, just another day that ends in Y for Minnesomalia. Normies bring up venezuela on their own accord way more often than whatever this shitshow is.

I think the problem is that marching orders to snuff out any Minneapolis news with the somali and Waltz controversies are still in effect, and this headline is getting shot down as collateral.

I have heard stories in the past how the city of Minneapolis had to build sky bridges between buildings because for some days it was simply too cold to walk across the street 1 block.

Another story about how people would get frostbite on their toes just sitting in their car driving.

That sort of weather is like a one or two weeks, every few years thing up there. Like it was under 20 for a couple weeks straight in December, but it hasn't dropped much below 32 this week, even at night.

Colder than someplace like Cincinnati, sure, but not cold enough to keep the acclimated locals indoors, even the East African "locals."

Its incredibly difficult to determine what she was thinking at the time, and we'll never really know. What we do know is that the ICE officer was standing right in front of a car that was starting to accelerate and he had a split second decision that would likely determine if he lived or died.

Its entirely possible that the woman in the car was acting irrationally and trying to flee, without paying attention to the officer out front, but she's still the one who put herself in that situation, and the officer had to make a call with extremely limited information and no time.

This isnt a movie where the hero gets to jump out of the way at the last second without any harm and make a punchy one liner. Its real life, and when your life is on the line you arent going to give a potentially malicious actor the benefit of the doubt, especially when theyve indicated prior hostility.

  • He absolutely can move out of the way of the vehicle.
  • In fact, there is video evidence where he DOES move out of the way of the vehicle, demonstrating the maneuver is trivial and effective
  • Him shooting the woman does not neutralize the threat of the vehicle at all, as the car could continue accelerating after she is shot
  • In fact. there is video evidence where the vehicle DOES accelerate after the woman is shot, demonstrating that murdering the driver is not an effective method of neutralizing the supposed immediate threat
  • He continues to shoot subsequent shots AFTER he is WELL out of the path of the vehicle, proving beyond any doubt that his motive is not rooted in self-preservation

You gave the benefit of hindsight on all of these assumptions. The officer cannot make all of these determinations in the second he has to react. He was able to partially get out of the way after the vehicle already made some contact with him, but he had no certainty of that. How is he possibly supposed to know that the car may still accelerate after shooting her? Itd perfectly reasonable to believe that by neutralizing the threat it would release pressure off of the pedal, weakening the impact, and he did not have the time to evaluate that kind of second order effect.

Stop trying to hang up on every technicality and think about the second when all of this actually happened - because that's all that the officer had to make a determination, and his information was extremely limited. You can have pity for her death without making ridiculous claims that he was trying to murder her.
