Where are all of the young Irish Republican lads, fighting for the cause like their fathers and grandfather's once did? I genuinely want to know. This isn't even a jab. Is anything actually going on to do something about this? Are there any major threats to the IRA LARPers? I've heard nothing about it.

It's a complex situation, but sectarianism is still rife in Norn Iron. Most people actually want to just live in peace, and that goes for those north and south of the 'border'. A lot of those men of violence did get older, yes, but they bred little bigots like themselves, if you look at it that way, or 'freedom fighters' if you see it from the other angle.

The proddys hate the fenians and vice versa, but again, most of them just want to live in peace, but the old rivalry is so ingrained to their culture, it's hard to give up. Anyway, enough sperging about that.

This isn't a loyalist/nationalist thing going on here. Both sides on the ground are fed up with the whole immigration thing. This has just brought an already volatile situation to a head. If it were a proddy/catholic thing, we'd be seeing different shit, but the fact this is going on unhindered should tell you all you need to know.

Those who are partisan have their own take on this, and you can argue the finer details of it, but I'll leave that to someone else to shit up the thread (more than I have) with.

It's dusk now and will be getting dark soon, and I have a feeling that might be when the real fun starts if last night's antics are anything to go by. Still, I counted about 2 dozen police land rovers. I think each one carries about 6 cops. So that's about 150 riot police.
