This whole thing has me wondering a bit. About a year or two ago, I was reminded of the UK poll tax riots. I remember watching those and recalling them as absolutely fucking viscous, with what looked to be half the country going berserk in the streets. It was the first and pretty much only white riot I can recall and left a clear impression.
Like I said, I was reminded a while back and looked it up on Wikipedia. I'm sitting there reading it and I guess young me was just easily impressed, as wiki made it sound like 500 people showed and all got the beating and thrown in prison for pretty much forever.
Big time cognitive dissonance thing, I guess. haha
