Yes, what a time to be alive.
As I talked about in a previous thread where I drew parallels between what is happening now in Norn Iron and what is happening in Bahrain (it's the same thing essentially - sectarian 'friction') - the riot police used there to quell the Shi'ites in Sanabis (a typical very problematic shia village - think of them like the Prods) are mostly flown in from Balochistan in Pakistan. Among other places, but this is a good example. They are essentially mercenaries but with a bent towards the other sectarianism (think Catholics).
Why is this? There are a few reasons, and again, I'm not just talking about this for the sake of it but because there are some very similar parallels.
One is they are cheap, and happy to do the 'work' because in their shithole of a country, that work isn't so good (or high paying). Parallel to UK: These midget fucking muslims are too dumb to do any normal kind of work and they work they would do would be low status, plus with the police in the UK, they get real 'Power'.
Secondly, they are 'other' so they have no problem oppressing their said targets. Religion is complex, but the Balochistanis have more in common with the Sunni Ruling Elite in Bahrain, than they do the Shia. Parallel to UK: These fucking muslim midgets just hate white people in general and it's one way to get one over on them. How much they have in common with the Ruling Elite in Britain, is up for debate, but at this point it's questionable at least and might be more than we, as British citizens, would like.
Thirdly, because they are other, they don't actually up the ante in the way that a direct opposing force would do. I'm not sure of the religious make up and demographics of the PSNI and whatnot, but I'd be surprised if there isn't a bit of DEI going on there too. If the riot squad going in to Sanabis and blinding the Shi'ite children with their plastic bullets (not quite as bad as rubber bullets, but can still take your eye out) was wholly Sunni, then that would really set the cat among the pigeons and be a major casus belli to fight back. So the work gets outsourced to 3rd parties. Parallel to UK: It's not your next door neighbor or another huwhyte that is policing you, it's one of them god damned dirty apes, and, well, we don't expect any more from them. So there is a displacement effect going on. TPTB get what they want - damned dirty apes to control the populace, but they are not overtly upping the ante in the people they choose to do it.
But don't worry about the police. The police are impotent. They only have the power they have via selectively enforced laws through anarcho-tyranny and quite frankly absolutely bat shit insane draconian sentencing that sees rapists go free and those that said hurty words on X/Twatter get their back doors kicked in at 4am in the morning and all their 'appliances' stolen, never to be returned in the state they left in.
Might is right. And the state have a monopoly on hard power and its projection.
So don't worry about the police.
The real issue here is how much the Provos and Prods can come together on this matter.
And don't forget, most of them are human too and just want to live in peace. It's a bit like Gaza - most of them there don't want to go along with Hamas' bullshit rhetoric/actions, but they have little choice to. I'm not drawing an exact parallel here with that situation because I think the people in Norn Iron, be they Prod or Provo, actually do want to go along with their 'ruling party's rhetoric/actions' a lot more than their Middle Eastern counterparts. But just keep in mind, those that don't will be swiftly brought in to line, because might is right.

But all that aside, the real shit show starts when the provos and the prods either come together or decide to really fall out and go back to their auld ways. No one wants that, not even them, I mean the falling out bit. Falling out would mean a return to 'Troubles' era bullshit. But coming together would be where the fun really starts and that would be a new day and one that in a way actually makes sense for the Prods/Provos. And that is the establishment's worst nightmare. There's probably a reason why the Provos said, we don't condone this shit be we aren't going to kneecap anyone over it either should they wish to express their displeasure. You can be sure in a place like Norn Iron where you can't even take a shit without your neighbor knowing what you are doing, this is as much a tacit expression of "Ah, go wan den", as you are going to get. Plausible deniability.
IIRC this event happened in a more Republican / Provo type of area. Yet it was the Loyalists and the Prods that took action on their behalf? That is some kind of coming together right there and this is what gives me hope. These people are very fucking politically astute. Just like any organised crime gang, be it Mafia or wtf, the people at the top distance themselves from the soldiers at the bottom carrying out their dirty work. They know they are under obs, all their phone calls are recorded, internet monitored, and all in real time. This is a war already make no mistake about it. But even more than all the other previous wars, this is an invisible war. And it will only get more invisible, and the more invisible it gets, the more dangerous it becomes.
In a funny kind of way, and I don't think this is actually going to happen, but it might, this event (and events like it) might actually be the catalyst to put these sectarian shenanigans to bed for once and for all - I mean, it's got all the hallmarks: common enemy, survival on both sides is at stake, and you know what, wer'e all still "Oirish" at de end uv der day! It would be the perfect excuse to just let things go, get over it, move on, ah gaw ahn, 'ave a cop a tai! Naw, go ahn, go ahn, go ahn... GO AHN!!!
That is the worst case scenario for the UK and Brit establishment. Not just from a Norn Iron viewpoint, but from a shieet, don't give the rest of the UK funny oidayahs viewpoint. Whitey coming together, when the Saxon has finally begun to hate would be a fucking reaped whirlwind that they just could not put back in the box. And once that wildfire starts spreading, well, you got a new country in 5 years time, after much bloodshed of course.
But that is what people want, don't they. They want fucking bloodshed. The good men of this country want to go to war. They want to shed their blood. They want to shed the blood of their enemies even more. And they want to hear the lamenting of their women. And now even they think it's 'funny'. Because it would be. How many decades now have we all been living under this shit and just not doing anything about it?

What I'm trying to get at is the fact that the disease that could take hold in Norn Iron, should the Provos and the Prods come together, could be a very dangerous critical mass moment should it spread south of the border, that let's face it, has been experiencing this kind of thing for just as long now, with it affecting them just as much, but they are a bit more unified in their society, though they still riot all the same, so don't want to cause so much of a fuss (though they still do), and all with the understanding that their police force (Gardai) are even less well equipped to deal with any kind of uprising or nonsense at all. Aside from the definitely-not-shipped-in-union-activist "peace" rally, very little has happened today. The prods aren't broadcasting their activities and went to ground after the police brought in reinforcements, which is how they've always operated in the past. I expect we'll see more migrant housing go up in the next few days, once the police numbers are reduced again, but it likely won't get widely reported because the media wants everyone to think that the anti-racists won.
