It might be bullshit but I once heard that they tested non-lethal weapons up in Northern Ireland in part because the local hooligans had been at it for so long they provided a worst case scenario for a persistent crowd.

This stuff happened in Bosnia in 1990 roughly before the start of the war, whereas despite being in the Yugoslav socialist republic system places like Sarajevo had their own seperate Bosnian enforcement org that drove around in pickups and set up road blocks like this. NI is different yes but I haven’t seen anything like this in a while from NI, which should tell you how bad it is getting.

It's a strong example of people fearing the aftermath if they really and truly were committed to pulling off any sort of revolution.

Nobody ever thinks past the point after usurping a government or authority as to how to go about rebuilding things to make a better future. Least, nobody these days has the brain power to think of anything. Not without upsetting the comfort of just living vicariously and continue supporting things that are actively fucking them.

We have too many armchair revolutionists around who have no balls to actually do the deed. They want others to do it for them and then they take the credit as if they've been the mastermind.

I only worked with poor people in Northern Ireland. The Catholics were decent, hardworking struggling. The Protestants were arrogant Israeli cosplayers. Usually I have exceptions or grey areas, not in this case. Fuck the Prods. Up the RA!. Fuck off to England.
