2025 US and Venezuela Conflict - Operation Just Cause 2: 2 Just 2 Cause

Is it boots on the ground, though?

It ain't a war unless there are boots on the ground.
Maybe. There's some speculation that a rescue operation is underway to grab those US citizens who were detained.

Yeah well neither is Russia, but what matters is that they sadly think they are one.
I don't think that China really thinks that they are a military super power. Maybe I'm being an optimistic retard again, but China's identity has really never been as wrapped up in military power as Russia and the CCP seems a little more grounded in reality than Putin's regime. China is happy to keep the status quo where they are just a soft power super power and are only militarily strong enough to bully their neighbors.

And I think they watched Israel wreck Iran in 12 days and I think they're going to watch the US fuck up Caracas in 12 hours and accept that they're not going to be taking on a close US ally any time soon.

There's not really a realistic way for them to take Taiwan without insane losses and I can't believe that they don't realize it. If Taiwan is on its own they'll eventually win, but the value of the island will be greatly reduced after the months or years of siege, the Chinese military itself will have probably taken far more losses, and the residents of Taiwan who had been warming to a new United Front will now be hostile and eager to sabotage whatever China attempts to do in the newly conquered territory. This is a best case scenario, because if the US does decide to get join in then even the Pyrrhic victory I described will be out of reach.

Even as an enemy Taiwan is far more useful than as a decimated, unruly province which is exactly why they keep on saber rattling about Taiwan.

Getting strong vibes of decapitation strike on this one. If it doesn't work, Venezuela has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever by retaliating against some random NATO country like Belgium. All it would take is one or two trucks full of drones to disable the country's energy infrastructure.
