I really hate the fact that there's a general culture of blue collar/trade work being less respected by these snobby assholes, the work may not be as intellectually demanding, but you still need critical thinking to effectively function as one, it is not a brainless job, it's important to the national economy (and it pays well too).

In many cases blue collar work is more intellectually demanding. Most white collar jobs are just mindless bureaucratic paper-pushing; the thinking jobs are a small minority.
