The Democrats really dropped the ball meddling with the schools. Northern Virginia in particular is very proud of their schools. They are very effective pipelines to good universities and rewarding government jobs. You can get a college-level education in some of their high schools, and even their public schools have high standards. Trying to replace that with a god damn activist factory, and then trying to intimidate the parents when they complained, angered a lot of people.

That's to say nothing about how they've fucked up DC itself.

In the last elections, Northern Virginia always swooped in and saved Virginia for the Democrats. There's a real chance that won't happen this time around.

And they wanted to make some really bad gun laws before 2020 as well. I think that was late 2019 IIRC.
