As it relates to the site, 2016 and 2020 caused a lot of grief.
2016 sewed the seeds for members sniping each other over politics in unrelated situations. 2020 threw gas on this problem. And to this day it is still an issue, but it is far more managed and controlled now.

Americans don't have a proof of citizenship they carry with them.
They don't have ID cards.
Social security numbers and associated registration exists but it's on paper.
You can get a passport but it's not something everyone has.
The rest of the world has advanced to ID cards; which simplify a lot of things - for example: accessing my medical history at the doctor is as easy as putting my ID in a card reader.

I think he's referring to the idea of "The Longhouse," the concept that feminine forms of behavior are dominant in our institutions. Which there is something to, as even men in lofty public and private positions have to act like women in the managerial bureaucracies they exist in. When I say act like women, I mean instead of commanding, dictating and taking ownership of things they follow "best practices", seek consensus and escalate up the chain as much as possible.
Basically, every institution that holds power over us or that we are forced to interact with regularly gives the impression they are run by bitchy school marms/HR ladies.
