Why does everyone keep saying this is a big win for Israel?
It was and it wasn't. Assad was a murderous dictatorial tyrant. The scenes coming from that President Damascus are proof enough. however, Assad was the enemy Israel knew. having visited the border between Israel and Syria, it was the most quiet border Israel's ever had. sure. technically, Israel and Syria have been at War since 1948, but since the Yom Kippur War, the board has been generally very quiet. however, Assad was allowing the facilitation and movement of weapons from Iran to Hezbollah and overall helping the Iranian proxy groups which is an existential threat to Israel, as all these groups have actively called for and worked towards the destruction of the Jewish state. so on one hand this has been a very big one. on the other hand, Israel now is faced with an enemy she doesn't know. yes, the control of Mount Hermon is a big deal and I'll get into that later in this post, but it's a mixed bag.
Assad was both ineffective and hated, and he needed propping up by both Russia and Iran, just to survive. Now they've got Turkey-backed """former""" ISIS as neighbors instead. Sure, maybe al-Golani himself is not ISIS, but what about his horde of headchoppers? They are already posting shit about moving on to Jerusalem. Also what does a man who comes from the Golan and used al-Golani as his nom de guerre really think about Israel occupying to Golan heights?
That's the big fear. al-Golani, says a lot of things at the West wants to hear but so did the Taliban we have to wait and see. The country might also devolve back in the civil War who knows. this is why Israel has been destroying Assad's military. they cannot allow any of the strategic assets to fall into the hand of jihadists. the Assad regime was backed by the Soviet Union, the Russian federation, and the Iranians. they have a massive arsenal of strategic weapons. which include massive stockpiles of chemical weapons. up until the civil War, the Syrian regime has been focused on invading, Israel, Israel cannot allow these weapons and information to fall into enemy hands. that's why they've been destroying everything. interestingly enough, they've only been hitting Assad's military bases. they have not been hitting any rebel militants (except for the odd unlucky ones who were too close to an airplane). Israel doesn't overtly want to get involved in the Syrian civil War, I assume there probably are mossad as assets throughout Syria, but I also assume that every country's intelligence agency is also there, but I digress. Israel conquered the Golan heights because of his strategic assets. sure, some might claim some religious reasons but the real reason was because the Golan is a plateau. that also is the source of the water for the Jordan. the Syrian government was attempting to not just build a damn on the Jordan which would destroy Israeli agricultural production, But also used the plateau to shoot rockets and bullets down onto Israeli farmers who lived within the 1948 boundaries. so to prevent this, when the 6-day war broke out and also with the Yom Kippur War the Israelis captured it. it's literally the high ground.
The Kurds are supposed to be an ally in this shit cauldron, and now they are getting raped by Turkey and the rebels. Deir ez-Zor was retaken in what, 3 days? Kobani looks like it's next. Once the rebels are done there, where are they gonna turn next?
when they're done with with the Kurds? who knows they can go for Lebanon and take out Hezbollah they can go for iraq and take out shia sites and go for Iran, they could be suicidal and try to go for Israel. the only person who knows is Al-jolani.
Sure, there's no more land corridor for Iran to supply Hezbollah, but those guys are pretty fucking dead already.
remember hezbollah's a death cult so they'll fight until every man is dead. but there are other ways to resupply hezbollah through the air through the sea. it can be done. maybe might be done with turkey. who knows but Assad is out.
Looks like Russia is gonna keep their port, and all that without having to deal with a fucking retard in Assad.
probably it's Russia's greatest asset in the region, Christ, the United States still has Guantanamo Bay even though Cuba is communist.
Is a mountain next to Damascus, no matter how strategic, worth all this shit?
actually yes. the higher Mount Hermon which is or was controlled by the syrians is the highest peak in all the Syria. from there, you can easily rain missiles artillery, and rockets down on Damascus. furthermore, prior to capturing this mountain (which is had captured before during Yom Kippur), the Israeli radar system which tracks incoming threats had a blind spot. now this mountain has been captured. Israel can place strategic listening posts and radar stations which can track equipment coming from Iran, Iraq, all of Lebanon, and some of turkey. remember Israel is just the size of New Jersey. the West Bank is about the size of Delaware and the Gaza strip is about the size of the island of Manhattan. we're talking about a very small region.
for as much as /pol/tards and Muslims like to bitch about Israel doesn't take land for religious reasons. except for Jerusalem, but that's a separate case, it takes land for its strategic value. and it relinquishes land in exchange for peace. this is why Israel gave up the entire Sinai for a peace treaty with Egypt. it's also why Israel was open to giving up the entire Gaza strip and 98% of the West Bank for peace treaty with the Palestinian authority. this probably won't continue after October 7th because the Palestinians have proven themselves to not respect anything but I digress. Israel in the '80s and '90s was willing to give up the Golan in exchange for a peace treaty with Assad. that never happened. furthermore, if you believe that this is all done for some stupid religious motive, which I doubt because most Israelis are secular in nature, the biblical lands of Israel stretch from about south of latani (where Israel currently is in Lebanon), All the Gaza strip, all the West Bank, maybe a bit of the Sinai, and some of Syria no more than it currently has. if you're schizophrenic and you believe it's some great religious conspiracy, a greater Israel is fucking small.
One point I feel is necessary to repeat. Nations deal with Israel, not because of some large Jewish conspiracy, in fact, with is most nations. the Jews are fucking tiny minority that hold basically no power and are largely secular. sure, they might run some banks but that can be sides stepped easily. the reason why nations deal with Israel is because Israel is a country that you can deal with. the Israelis are willing to work in the western style and the western standard. they believe in shit like international law, and I mean that not just in the military sense but also business sense where it matters. they are fine trade partners. their legal system is robust, which means if you have some sort of legal issue you can sue anybody in the country and be guaranteed a level compensation will be given. it makes Israel an attractive partner. then add on all the other assets Israel has from medical to diamonds to financial to military technology and Israel becomes a good investment.
now compare this to the Arab head choppers. they don't believe in the Western order, well as far as they can throw it, if you go against their bullshit Sharia law, they'll cut your fucking head off. or they'll give preference to the Muslim because the religion says you have to. they all hate each other, and they don't produce shit. what is Egypt's greatest export besides a canal that the British built, and cotton? what does Saudi Arabia produce besides oil and natural gas? the only Muslim Nation which could potentially become a real strategic issue is Iran. and that's because culturally their people aren't fucked up, their their country is full of assets besides oil, and prior to the shah being overthrown there has been centuries of proof that you can have business deals with Iran.
The United States deals with Israel for many reasons primarily due to the ones above. but it is also important to point out that Jews tend to vote as a single voting block traditionally, and 98% of Jews are zionists (and of the 2% that are not zionists 1.9% Believe that Israel should be a religious theocracy run by Jews that should be established when the Messiah comes back, either way, they're not friends of Palestinians). so if you don't support Israel, you're not going to get the Jewish vote and you're going to lose an election. look at the issue that the Democratic party had the current election, Jewish vote has been split and Trump was able to win. if this continues, the Democrats might lose the Jews forever. the Israelis are also a very good strategic asset to have their intelligence organization is probably the second best in the world and they know the region like the back of their hands so being good partners with them is good for business and good to ensure continued American interests are maintained. remember the United States does push back against Israel, they used to do it a lot in the past. now they do it more in private.
I do not understand why the mention of Israel or the Jews makes white people suddenly act like fucking sandapes.
If the grammar or spelling is off I apologize, I'm phone posting.
