I, for one, cannot believe that the MSM would fabricate lies to justify another unpopular overseas war in the ME. We never did find those WMD's, Bin Laden was chilling in Pakistan, and some of the moderate head choppers went on to form ISIS, but those are clearly just outliers.

It's fairly obvious that the Assad regime had good reason to lock up a lot of suspected islamist militants. Claims of ultramax torture prisons styled after Auschwitz were media hallucinations to rally public support for the various rebel groups. The US has been directly or indirectly funding almost every party in this long war that promised to take over the country (YPG, northern moderate head choppers, useless southern rebels sitting in the desert, Israel, Turkey, etc.).

That's because this whole thing is a psyop organized and financed by the NAFO tards and Israel, aiming to throw Syria in permanent civil war in order to "improve the regional security environment". Watch it all backfire over the next 10 years.

Backfire again, it already resulted in ISIS #1 when a bunch of syrian islamists drove across the border into iraq. We've had first ISIS, but what about second ISIS?

The whole reason those treaties were enacted was not because we were scared of Ivan in terms of long-range atomic hellfire but because we didn't want to risk coming up with something that would push those paranoiacs over the edge. The USA has atomic warheads small enough to fit on a bitch-basic cruise missile with a yield just as much, if not more than what we dropped on Hiroshima. If Ivan wants to play this game, he can play, but I doubt its going to end the way he likes.

Fantastic, so just like everywhere else that the CIA and Israel have been meddling with for the past fifty years, within the coming months, I expect nothing less than for Syria to become yet another bastion of freedom, a beacon of religious tolerance, a powerhouse of science and technological advancement and final proof that all the Arab nations have the same potential as the West. They all just need Jews with American weapons to come in and bomb the living shit out of them for a few years for that whole "cultural enlightenment" to kickstart itself.

It's just sad that the new religious extremists that are moving in over the old religious extremists aren't going to get the same thousands of tonnes of American hardware gift basket that the Afghans got when they resumed management.

The Deir ez-Zor council has defected from the SDF/Kurdish side to the HTS-led new order in Syria (Wikipedia calls them the Syrian Transitional Government, or STG). Deir ez-Zor is another Arab-majority city, a provincial capital & second-largest city under SDF control behind Raqqa (ISIS' former capital), and already had major protests against the Kurds' rule (which said Kurds tried to put down with gunfire) previously. Seems the Sultan literally cannot stop winning these past two months.

My new hot take is that the US and Israal went along with Erdogan's Syrian adventure thinking it would bog Russia down defending Assad in another bloody civil war. Instead Russia didn't take the bait, Assad just said fuck it you can have the whole thing, noped out quietly and now the West completely owns this big steaming pile of shit. Again.
