How about a Mad at the Internet one? First idea I get is the red glow in the middle of the patch with "MAD AT THE INTERNET" around it.

I think going for black and fieldgreen military style patches is nice and subtle. How about something like crossed Kiwi skulls? If you put those black solid on green plus the motto beneath could be neat.

As someone familiar with this market a few things that might help:

1. They're way easier to produce and ship than silver obviously
2. Not worth even close to as much, so you better sell a lot to make a decent shilling
3. Most North American and European producers have decent rates, so you can support small textile businesses if you can pay them through your means

imo i think something simple like a little chibi cow would be more than enough. This is a crummy one i did it 10 minutes on a tablet but touch it up a bit and it could look pretty nice (the app i was using hated font adjustment, and i don't have a fancy stylus).

Back when i knew the chan was going to die i ordered a bunch of patches as a keepsake from the patch vendor anons like crimson caravan and others. If you are going to make patches and sell them i'd reccomend partnering up for the run with one of them since i have never had shipping problems when ordering from any of them and i live in aus, the quality is also good, also i will buy a patch.
