Why is everything flat and without contrast this looks gross, add some depth

As explained in this thread which was featured for weeks, ThemeHouse has banned us without warning or explanation and is too cowardly and inept to even return my emails asking if I have in fact been banned. Their customer service is ordinarily very slow and useless but I'm figuring this is an intentional silence. So, yes, we have to change the theme and I'm working on the replacement.

No, the feature to choose a font size was a part of ThemeHouse and will not be present in this style.
If you are using the new theme, you should expect the site to glitch out. When I change things, it will recache the CSS.
If the site looks completely broken, wait a few seconds and refresh. If it's still broken after a few minutes, report it.

I am looking for broad complaints and obvious which can be addressed, rather than nitpicks.
"The font is different", "this part of the site is hard to read", "this doesn't work", "this hurts my eyes", etc are what I'm looking for.
"You should add 10px to this margin" is not, because of how much I am changing.

I'm forcing this on everyone on January, so make do.

The grey text tabs in the home bar / site header are pretty low contrast. I'm pretty visually impaired, but if it's not too much to ask to go back to the lighter grey-ish white text before, it'd be appreciated.
Also I preferred the green 'post reply' button.

nitpicks:
headers should be bolded
that muted gray footer color is kind of a bitch to read on containers with a lighter gray background (new content, new sperging, etc.)
line spacing in posts is too damn big now and it reminds me of the stupid ui change discord made much earlier this year

otherwise it's mostly tolerable now and i can live with this new dimensional merge biden-era hellworld theme. some gradients might be nice

the site's looked mostly flat for ages, but at least everything is distinguishable from each other and it doesn't hurt my eyes. it's utilitarian i guess

I'm not porting that over. It was still a full sized, many megabyte file.

Fucking lazy niggers will learn to thumbnail. Report posts that don't.

EDIT: Apparently it's smoother if you embed as thumbnail instead of no-embed with auto-gen thumbnails

There's an issue with the new theme on posts with large numbers of attachments lagging mobile (only attached not embedded as thumbnails or full-size https://kiwifarms.net/threads/melinda-leigh-scott-marshall-castersen.32118/post-8054513 post ). This didn't happen with the old theme as far as I'm aware.

All I can say is I prefer red instead of green (thus “2021 - Red Dark” would be my ideal theme), and that there seems to be too much space between vertical lines of text.

I'm on mobile: True & Honest/Mod/etc badges are showing for applicable users, but I've noticed checkmark badges don't seem to be appearing.

I liked having the button to jump to the bottom of the page. The site occasionally starts scrolling upward on mobile and that made it easier to get back to a specific post without it scrolling more.

I think in general, a lot of the green text should be bolder, or maybe slightly brighter. It sorta fades into the gray a little bit.
The lightbulb here looks pretty good.

Can you make the page links on the home page turn white if that subforum is all read, like the threads themselves? (white on dark mode). But overall I like the new theme, glad that you could use all the same colors.

This is not totally related to the theme because now it's the same as it was before, but is it possible to put the reactions in a grid instead of in one line? Or make the whole reactions bit smaller. Gets just a tiny bit annoying to scroll all the way to the left to hit the green checkmark etc.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet or if anyone else feels this way, but I feel like the small text on the main page is difficult to read because the text is too dark. It was a little bit lighter on the previous version and I found that to be easier on the eyes.

I gotta agree that grey text is a little too grey in the dark theme and blends with background.

That's a nitpick, so you can ignore it, but for some reason my eyes get tired quicker now and I can't point out the exact reason. Maybe it's just a novelty factor.
