CHELSEA, Manhattan — Multiple people were injured during an outdoor explosion in Chelsea Saturday night.

The explosion happened at 135 23rd St. between Sixth and Seventh avenues.

It was not immediately clear how many people were injured or the severity of their injuries. Preliminary reports indicate at least 14 minor injuries.

The FDNY is on the scene with the NYPD Counterterrorism Unit.

The explosion comes after a pipe bomb exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey near the Semper Five 5K Charity Run Route. The device was placed in a garbage can.

29 injured, no fatalities.

A secondary, unexploded device was found and secured nearby. NYPD is analyzing this device which has been described as a pressure cooker attached with wires to a cell phone.

Update: It was Islam, of course.

I hope so. But I've seen this played out over here in Europe where every incident (attack, stabbing, sexual harassment, what have you) just turns into an everlasting 'lets not jump to conclusions yet' fest
 
As we all know, the media hates jumping to conclusions or sensationalizing an event before all the facts are known, so this all makes a lot of sense.
 
So some person claiming to be the bomber in NYC just made a Tumblr account. If this is to be believed, this isn't a kebab, but an extremely triggered SJW who has a hate boner for Trump.

Frankly, that's something about the media that I like. Not jumping to conclusions and only reporting what's verified is a hallmark of journalism that we shouldn't abondon...

That being said, the media trying to turn a blind eye towards proven facts is where it all starts to go downhill.
When they start calling an explosive device a "pressure cooker with wires" rather than what it is, that#s just nonsense.Though I feel it's worse in 'murrica, I'd assume.

Puerto Rican buddy said some people online recognized it as a cheap pressure cooker you'd get at a mercado and were saying it's some flavor of hispanic that did it.

The only clue they're going on it not being ISIS/another Muslim group is no one has claimed responsibility. That, and a mass stabbing attack that recently happened where ISIS DID take responsibility happened on the same day.

Gee, I wonder if the people who set up this bomb might not want to divulge key information that might lead to their arrest, compared to this guy who was already subdued in a knife attack.

It's almost like the people who set up this bomb and the ones who set it up in New Jersey, if they are connected to terrorism, will lay low and keep from claiming responsibility while the perpetrators are still at large and capable of committing more bomb attacks.

Well gee Null, stop being so paranoid. That clearly can't be a bomb! It was just a really, really freaky accident, where some immigrant tried to do western dishes but accidently grabbed "The anarchist's cookbook", mistaking it for a collection of american receipts. :optimistic:
