🐱 150 Minneapolis Cops File Disability Claims for PTSD, Which They Attribute to George Floyd Protests

The mendacity of police officers never ceases to amaze me, not to mention the extensive luxuries they get to enjoy as a result of tax-payer money.

As The Washington Post reports, 150 police officers from the Minneapolis Police Department have started the process of filing disability claims that will allow them to leave the force and still receive pay, on the basis that they are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The cause of their newfound disability? The protests against George Floyd’s gruesome killing by Minneapolis police.

From The Washington Post:

Half of those officers are no longer on the job because they have exhibited symptoms of PTSD, according to Ron Meuser Jr., a Twin Cities personal injury attorney who is representing the officers. The other half likely will quit working in coming days as they formalize disability claims with the city, Meuser said Friday.
“While law enforcement is a high-stress career, the last two months in Minneapolis have pushed many officers to their breaking point,” Meuser said.
The officers say the protests — which came in response to Floyd’s death during a police encounter, when an officer pressed down on top of him while he pleaded for help and said he couldn’t breathe — have deeply affected them.

Mueser, the lawyer representing the officers, says there will likely be an increase in the number of Minneapolis cops filing disability claims for PTSD from the protests. So far, about 20 percent of the force has indicated that they are traumatized and unable to work.
The Minneapolis Police Department has said that none of their officers have suffered serious injuries during the protests that sparked in the city before spreading to the rest of the country, but that hasn’t stopped the personal injury lawyer from ratcheting up the narrative that cops are victims.

According to Mueser, some of his clients fearfully counted their ammunition during the Minneapolis protests to make sure they would have a bullet for themselves to avoid being beaten to death.
I would laugh at the hyperbole if I wasn’t so disgusted. Instead, I’ll just say that we have seen no evidence of people beating cops to death, but we have seen copious videos of cops doing everything from beating people to kneeling on their neck until they’re dead.

Anyway, Mueser says his cop clients are seriously traumatized by having to watch citizens exercise their constitutional right to protest.
“I’m seeing PTSD symptoms of officers with highly diminished capacity to live and socialize, extraordinary rates of divorce, and alcohol dependency – just to cope,” he said in a statement. “It is an emotional crisis that cannot and should not continue.”

Police officers in Minneapolis stand to collect permanent payments of between 45 to 60 percent of their base salary, according to a helpful disability benefits FAQ on Mueser’s website that is appropriately headed with a black and blue version of the American flag.
This is cop country, I guess, and the rest of us are just paying for it.

Tbh, good for them. Take that money.

It's hilarious to watch perma-unemployed antifa "protestors" arcing up about this, claiming they have the real PTSD.

I wish Neil Breen could fix their problem for good.

This could be taken two ways, seems a weird thing for the cops actual lawyer, who is supposed to be representing them, to say. Wonder which way the left will situated it?

It's worth noting 150 officers is over 1/6th of the entire police force, mostly made up from people who were trapped in the destroyed third precinct as they were besieged. Some were so worried for their lives they even started to write goodbye letters to their families.
Just imagine the trauma from the burning precinct, escaping by police car only to see your place of work, the place that's suppose to keep public order, is torched to the ground infront of your eyes.

Good for them. They are treated as the enemy so they need to start looking out for themselves and milk the system the way Minneapolis’ vibrant heroes do.
Certainly beats tax payer money going to private security of a group of people presently trying to defund the public's security.

I'm just soooo fucking glad these queers are just greasing the wheels for a police state crack down. Out of all the ways to protest, modicums of change, they go and destroy things. All the people who didn't riot and burn shit down get to enjoy whatever outlandish policy shifts that are coming down the pipeline. They just work to burn it all down, they won't be there to rebuild in the ashes. Because rebuilding means work and these white/black/other people rioting are niggers. And niggers don't work.

So one hundred and fifty officers of the department that has a culture of professional incompetence so colossal that it sparked actual riots not just in their city but across the nation are filing for disability because of the mess their institution made.

Where are these disability payments going to come from? Who will pay for this? All of those people who had to take matters into their own hands and patrol their own neighborhoods and towns while the police sat around whining about being hated? I don't know, maybe the leftists are on to something. Maybe we really should fire them all, because armed citizens did a hell of a lot better job than the Minneapolis Police Department and Minnesota National Guard.

So how long until the left trash talk these guys and downplay their PTSD unironically. Meanwhile their whole regressive movement is built upon Triggers and other such bullshit. Yes, PTSD and triggers are legit, but not the type that usually begins with "TW: Fat shaming" or whatever you'd seen on Twitter or Tumblr.

Blah blah blah Left Double Standards and if they didn't have that they have none blah blah blah.

well it hasn't happened yet but I guess it never hurts to be prepared

Shouldn't the niggers and wiggers at The Root be happy about this? That's 150 officers, in just one city, who want to quit.

That part isn't quoting the lawyer. That's the writer of the article inserting her own bullshit rhetoric about cops in general.

Did you know that in the past 6 years, an entire 7 people had been killed by cops in Minnesota? And most of them weren't black. That's barely 1 per year. In a city of ~500,000 people. Did you know that the death rate when interacting with cops, nationally, for black people is 5 per 100,000?

Why wouldn't you be traumatized being in the thick of that nightmare? It was disturbing enough for me just seeing photos and videos online.

I hope this is bait, in every city that the police have backed down or lost precincts the murder rate went up. Not to mention it's childish to blame this on a cop not knowing how to deal with a violent felons OD, when equal blame can be put on the media constantly publishing race baiting stories, a political party endorsing it, and a 3-4 month lock down that not only made people stir crazy but made most of them unemployed.

That's a lot of fucking people. Holy shit.

I do feel bad. These niggas have been villified and always because the media took an ran with the story of a cop being too rough with the person he arrested and that led to mass corporate funded protests.
