I thought the same thing at first but each day that goes by and he keeps gifting more makes it more and more unlikely. the cards would be shut down by now and reported as stolen and twitch would have banned the account or suspended it for investigation by now.

i wouldnt be surprised if they made this guy do a separate verification via phone or something by now either. just like tut got his account shut down for a while why they verified it. its likely they did the same with this guy we just didnt know it. could be why he skipped a day.

Also i fully expect phil to get the full $16k net from this guy too. the question is, will he go beyond 16k......

To be honest, we're no closer to knowing and may not likely know. The facts are these, as far as I know:

1) Phil will keep every cent (unless he's banned before it's due in 2-3 months time? Unsure but unlikely too considering his protection there)

2) Phil's comments indicate he's spoken privately to this person, specifically pointing out it was contributing to his tax situation. The user has not said a word in chat so how on Earth can Phil know his motives?

What isn't confirmed but likely:

1) Considering the likelihood of private communications between pig and whale, you can bet phil will attempt to keep details bare minimum, tying in with the two leaked email responses from him before about hiding contributions from his fans.

2) Having said that, this level of contribution is extremely public - and also extremely confusing, as it gives Twitch a cut also. The fact he switched up from contributing Tier 1 subs to Tier 3 strengthens the idea DSP communicated with the user to do it that way instead, giving Phil a bigger portion.

3) With this still currently ongoing, with the sub drops happening several days straight, seems to rule out credit card fraud. With this in mind it might be time to consider the simplest solution - this is maybe a DSP fan, with more money than sense (obviously, being a DSP fan), wanting to help out as anonymously as possible. Sometimes the simplest answer is their right one.

Considering how he's getting all of this right before the end of the year, I suspect he's going to try and pull some tax filing shenanigans to try and keep more money away from the IRS than what he really owes them, which would lead to him getting audited (again). Or maybe he'll waste it all between February and April and still not pay off his taxes.

Regardless of how this shakes out though I'm confident he will find a way to shoot himself in the foot over this. If there's one thing Dark is actually good at, it's ruining any good opportunity that life gives him. He's practically got it down to an art form now with how consistent and ridiculous he is about it.

If nothing else he's increasing his total tax burden by $2-5k. Split across 2018 and 2019 or not it doesn't matter much.

The only thing that's for certain is that Phil talked to E7 behind the scenes, and knew that this was going to happen. E7 probably demanded to stay "anonymous" but I think there's a possibility that this is one of Phil's usual whales that's just donating under a fake account just to fool with us. Probably deep down he's ashamed that he's donating this huge amount of money to a garbage streamer and doesn't want it to ever come out lol. But I guess we'll never know for sure.

He probably wont donate anything. He wants the attention, he craves it. But he is aware how little Phil does for a 10k+ donation so why would his measly 1-2k be anything special?

Is this money really going to help? If we are to believe Phil, his bank gets overdrawn every month. This would lead me to believe that he is spending more money than he is making. Sure the thousands and thousands of dollars will help alleviate some debt and lay off taxes, but his regular income is not enough.

So if E7 is doing this to save DSP gaming, it is a temporary fix. Phil might save the house this year, but his numbers are pretty bad for someone who does this for a full time job.
