An active duty Air Force major was arrested Wednesday after he publicly called for the impeachment of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance outside the nation's Capitol building.

"When the President of the United States orders military action against foreign countries, absent an emergency scenario, where American interests are under imminent, dire threat -- as was done with Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran -- that's an unconstitutional usurpation of Congress' authority, and a violation of the War Powers Clause," Air Force Major Jason Watson said in part. "These violations resulted in the deaths of 13 service members, and injuries of hundreds more."

"For this, the president and vice president must be impeached, convicted, and removed," Watson added.

Watson later stood on the Capitol steps holding a sign that said "Impeach. Convict. Remove." Video shows him being arrested by Capitol Police.

He was arrested in an area that is open to the public, but where protesting is prohibited.

IMO we should punish officers by forcing them to be enlisted for a few years.
Attempts had been tried and those "officers" were almost always do nothing dead weight and made the enlisted on and off the job lives miserable with their presence.
The Officer Corps has been pozzed since Obama. And like all things since Obama, the Dems been banking on never having considered losing an election, and presumed they were on the cusp of a Progressive Thousand Year Reich.
It never once crossed their minds that Republicans would win an election again.

The Officer Corps gets pozzed everytime a democrat is in Office ever since Truman fired MacArthur.

It’s like those idiots took all those inspirational posters about ‘standing up for what’s right and it will change everything’ to heart and they never see these other people doing it and it not happening. I dunno man main character syndrome is weird.
Less so when you realize that a lot of people grow up in a bubble where their status as the main character is constantly reinforced....

If you've been told as a kid growing up? And all through school? And all through higher education? And all through your professional career? That you are the most moral person to have ever walked the Earth because you can recite all 48 genders (for example) just like you were taught? Of course you're going to have a hard time considering the first person you meet who doesn't believe in 48 genders is pure evil.

Even if they're the President.

A major with 17 years in, unless he has prior enlisted time, would normally not be on active duty as a regular officer. Assuming no enlisted time, four years to captain from commissioning, then six or seven years to major after making captain, so that's 10-11 years. Once you make major, you come into the primary zone for lieutenant colonel about three years after making major, so 13-14 years. The AF is up-or-out. If you don't make lieutenant colonel in the primary zone, you get one more shot 'above the zone' the next year. If you don't make it then, and the odds are slim, you normally have to leave the service or retire if you have enough time in thanks to prior enlisted time. With 17 years in, this guy would seem to have some enlisted time.

We saw the video a while back of the airman who set himself on fire. Least his demise was quick. This fuckwagon will likely have many years to regret his public career suicide. Lofty ideals don't put food on the table or a roof over your family's head. And doing this publicly means no high-up former boss can take him in and stash him in a not-shit job until he makes 20 years.
Saw on X that he's a US Air Force Academy grad so he has essentially no enlisted time.

Dude fucked his life (in the military)

That said.... I'll bet dollars and donuts that he's picked up by some far left NGO / think tank and is trotted out a DSA campaign events and the like.

Officers are held to a higher standard. A dipshit private will just get kicked out for UCMJ violations. An officer however risks hard time at Leavenworth.
NGL I was at a talk where General Mattis was the guest speaker a few weeks ago.

People were foaming at the mouth trying to get him to shit on Trump but he WOULDN'T DO IT.

He was extremely committed to his belief that the CIVILIANS CONTROLL THE MILITARY, MILITARY FIRINGS ARE AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE POTUS and that retired officers should be quiet, especially flag officers.

I'd presume he'd call for this guy to be court martialed.

I would date it to when George Marshall did his purge of the officer corps in 1940. Its been presented historically as Marshall clearing out "bad officers" and "old officers". Marshall was made chief of staff of the army in 1939 by FDR reaching 30 names down the list and overly selecting him based on his absolute political loyalty to the president. Then a year later Marshall was organizing purge boards to go through the officer corps and wholesale discharged people for just about any reason they pleased. Including politics.

That's pretty interesting considering he left the SECDEF job under acrimonious circumstances.

I didn't mentioned him or him purging the officer corps because it was a target rich environment of legitimately bad peace time and incompetent officers. As Uncle Sam will see in the early on in WWII in the African and Pacific theaters. Shame Marshall didn't collect enough scalps from the higher ranking one to four star officers and admirals during his purge.

Yep. Other questions sent his way were about that and he talked around that.

He essentially said "I no longer felt that I was the best man for the job" and didn't say anything else.

The old leftist Boomers there must have been insanely asshurt that he wasn't shitting on Trump the entire time.

He also said (paraphrasing) "the current president and other presidents have a mandate of the people when elected and they're supposed to enact the will of the people" aka shut the fuck up about Trump he got elected fair and square.

Makes me sick to my stomach thinking how someone can fuck his family over this way; think I may have seen a wedding ring on his hand.
TDS is a hell of a drug.

I know a couple of guys who are ex-mil Dems (Non-coms) and while they don't like Orange Man, they thought this guy was absolutely retarded. Enlisted can get away with a certain amount of stupidity (anyone below E-6); officers are expected to know and live by the rules.

Thanks for the info.

Hmmm...17 years as a commissioned officer and still a major. I don't get how he is still on active duty. As previously mentioned he would have had his primary shot at lieutenant colonel at about the 14-year mark. If passed over he would have gotten a secondary shot the next year, about the 15-year mark. Normally, passed over twice means separation or retirement. Things may have changed, though. Been retired from the AF 27 years. Bottom line - this shithead = fucked.

I never got to join the military: they said my weiner was too big and denied me - so my knowledge on these things is a bit lacking. But like, don’t they make you take like a bunch of classes teaching you not to be politically biased and not a fag? Something like “your job duties and why BPD foids ain’t worth it 101” or something?

Also, don’t you need an oath or something where you say like “The best defense is a good offensive, like buttfucking Iran niggers.” ??

Probably, but, there's no more USAID money so his salary for that is gonna be mighty low.
He's losing more than he thinks. Military retirees can get outstanding medical insurance at very low prices, $31/month for a single person, $62/month for a family of any size. No deductibles, low copayments, prescription coverage. Can't beat it for the money. Vision insurance also cheap, dental insurance very reasonable. They also get to use the Base Exchange and the commissary. Commissary alone provides very good savings. While you switch to Medicare at 65, you get on Tricare for Life, which is free. TFL covers the 20%, copayments and Medicare yearly deductible, has saved me thousands of dollars. These benefits, plus the pension check with yearly cost-of-living increases, last for life.

What a stupid fucker.

Yes, we do swear an oath when we enlist/are commissioned, pledging to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, etc.

Marshall was picked because he was one of the younger generals, would be able to serve a full term as Chief of Staff before turning 64, mandatory retirement age. Political loyalty had nothing to do with it, he was always formal and professional around the President, had no problem telling FDR when he was mistaken. Marshall did indeed do a purge among the upper ranks, weeding out poor performers and those who had grown too old, knew we'd need younger officers for the upcoming war. Over the years he kept a little black book of officers who were worth considering for important jobs. Am sure the Navy did the same.
